This is official, just not sure if it's a 2 CD or 1 CD and if this will have a US release.

Right now it's only on AmazonUK.

This band still rocks live.

What's the band lineup for this one? Anybody besides Lukather left in the band?

Fantastic. I've never seen them live but I have the entire catalog on CD (including a couple of live CDs & DVDs) as well as every Lukather solo album, so I will absolutely get this. The guy just gets better & better. I don't even care if there are no other original members of Toto on this release (although at that point it should probably be billed as The Steve Lukather Band), but I'm guessing Paich & at least one Porcaro is involved. Also wondering if Simon Phillips is still drumming with them.

Lukather, Paich, Steve Porcaro, Phillips, Williams and Nathan East (Mike Porcaro has MS I believe-very sad).

So, it is a classic lineup to say the least.

This year, Phillips retired and Keith Carlock (!) replaced him so awesomeness remains!

I will get this live release for sure. Joseph Williams, Steve Porcaro and David Paich all returned when the band reformed in 2010.

I had forgotten that Joseph Williams was singing with them again. I have a soft spot for "The Seventh One" and I'm glad they've included a few songs from that album.

Pete, did Phillips actually retire from drumming or just from Toto? That guy is too good to just stop playing. Carlock is great too, so I agree with your comment about "awesomeness."

Agreed. I was disappointed when he quit working with Townshend and The Who (although Zak Starkey has certainly been good in his stead). He could play with the aggression and speed of Moon, but with much greater control.

I always loved Simon's drumming with Townshend, but I felt that his style wasn't a perfect fit during his time with The Who. I saw him years ago with Jeff Beck and he was phenomenal, and I've loved his work with Toto all these years. Zak Starkey has been a revelation ever since he joined The Who in the '90s. I was skeptical at first but he perfectly recaptures Moon's wild style while always remaining in control.

I thought Phillips was great with Townshend solo but not quite the right fit at times with The Who. One some songs however such as "Sparks" and the 2 new songs The Who did in 1989 he really did fit well. I saw the tour and was so thrilled to see him there.

Phillips was killer with Jeff Beck, Judas Priest and Michael Schenker Group and let's face it-with Toto from 1992-2013 he was incredible replacing a drumming legend which he himself is.

I'm not sure if he retired from music or not or just the band but he has had back woes.

This new live Toto release will be a must for me.

Saw Toto live last Summer at Westbury for my birthday and they were awesome! One of the best shows I've ever seen there. The crowd was really on from the first note that night....a real lovefest. And Phillips was the drummer. Love watching Steve Lukather play guitar.

A big one off my bucket list.

Didn't Bobby Kimball sing most of their big hits? I know Paich sang a few.

No-the band has always has 3 lead singers in Kimball, Paich and Lukather.

Kimball was the frontman but did not sing anywhere near all the songs, although he certainly sang a lot of them. After him it was the late Fergie Ferdriksen, then Joseph Williams, Jean Michael-Byron and then no frontman from 1991-97 until Kimball returned from 1998-2008.

Williams returned in 2010 and has been there since.

I've loved all their singers, but Lukather is my favorite. All of his solo albums are excellent, especially everything from "Luke" & afterwards. I'm planning on covering their catalog at my blog sometime this year, even though I'll likely lose all of my readers at that point.

Here's a killer teaser with all of "Hold The Line". Which means a Blu Ray and DVD release too.

The band is on fire and Williams sounds just great.

Backing singer Amy Keys signs her ass (and big boobs) off!

Also great with Big Country. I'm surprised Rich didn't point that out. :)

I'm such a Mark Brzezicki fan that I tend to overlook Simon's contributions to Big Country (even though I love the Buffalo Skinners album).

I have this forgotten 1984 jazz-fusion album on vinyl. It's another great example of Simon's drumming brilliance.

Toto have announced the release of a live package from their 35th Anniversary Tour, extensive touring plans and also reveal that they plan to record their first studio album in almost a decade.

The new live package, "35th Anniversary Tour - Live In Poland," will be released by Eagle Rock on April 29th in various formats including standard edition 2CD, DVD, Blu-ray and deluxe editions that will include a 60-page book.

The new release was recorded in Lodz, Poland on June 25th of last year and will include the following tracks: Intro, Medley: "On The Run" / "Child's Anthem" / "Goodbye Eleanor," "Goin' Home," "Hydra," "St. George And The Dragon," "I'll Be Over You," "It's A Feeling," "Rosanna," "Wings Of Time," "Falling In Between," "I Won't Hold You Back," "Pamela," "99," "The Muse," "White Sister," "Better World," "Africa," "How Many Times," "Stop Loving You," "Hold The Line," and "Home Of The Brave." The set also includes behind-the-scenes bonus content.

Looking ahead, the band also announced that they plan to record a new studio album this year, their first studio album since 2006's "Falling In Between". They expect to release the new album next year.

David Paich had this to say about the new studio effort, "The repertoire is coming together so naturally it is as though we never took a break from creating as Toto in the studio. For the fans who have been waiting patiently and continually showing the band support and love over the last decade or so, this one's for you. Collectively we can't wait to share these recordings with The World."

Fans in Japan and North American will also be able to see the band live this year. Next month they will launch seven show arena tour in Japan and then this summer they will embark on a North American coheadlining tour with Michael McDonald.

Thanks for the update, Pete. Hopefully the deluxe editions combine CD+DVD &/or CD+Blu-ray, and not just give us one configuration plus a nice booklet. Would love to have both the audio & video portions in one place.

According to this SuperDeluxeEdition article...
http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/ ... eluxe-set/

...in addition to the individual 2-CD, DVD & Blu-ray editions of this release, there will also be a 4-disc (2CD+DVD+Blu-ray) Deluxe Hardcover Book Edition. Currently it's priced £29.99 at Amazon UK and (yikes!) $101.49 at Amazon US. Here are links for those two listings. Other links can be found in the above article.

Thanks, Linda. Since it didn't include the word "Import" in brackets next to the title I assumed it was a domestic release. I hope there's a reasonably-priced version of the box set released here.
