Bannings: If you're not nice
This will surely be the best self-covers album ever made. Then again, if they don't release a CD version, I'll never hear it anyway. Please don't forget about your optical-centric fans!

Here's the cover art as first posted by Forefathers bassist (and IMWAN member) Allan Crockford on Facebook:

The album, in whatever format(s) it ends up being released, will be available directly from the band and maybe through Allan's Amazon UK storefront as well.

ETA: It's now available via Allan's Amazon UK storefront -- look for seller "crojak63", which is also his username here. This is a vinyl LP which also includes the entire album as a CD plus a download code for all the tracks.

Product Description
The crucial ingredients of The Prisoners, Prime Movers, Solarflares and The Gaolers in one stripped down power trio...Graham Day, Allan Crockford and Wolf Howard have been intermittently blasting out their muscular version of "Medway garage-rock" ™ in various combinations and guises for more than 30 years, releasing dozens of albums between them. Graham and Allan made 5 albums in The Prisoners (1982-86), and another 3 with Wolf in The Prime Movers (1988-1993). The trio was re-united in 1999 as The Solarflares, releasing another five albums until once again calling it a day in 2004. Now they return again as The Graham Day & the Forefathers, to rifle through the "Graham Day Songbook" and deliver a "best of..." set: stripped down live versions of the best of The Prisoners, The Prime Movers, The Solarflares and Graham's most recent band, The Gaolers. For new and old fans-alike The Forefathers (like their long time chum and ally, Billy Childish) are the "real deal". After a stunning debut single on State Records ('Love Me Lies'/'30-60-90'), the album packs six Solarflares' tunes, three from The Prisoners, two from The Gaolers and one from The Prime Movers into its short and sharp running time. Recorded in the back room of a mate's print shop, using a couple of old mics, the backing tracks were bashed out in one take, raw 'n' alive. As a latter day dose of garage-punk this 12-track tribute to themselves adds a spin and twist here and there on 25 years worth of "tunes with attitude". Good Things also works as a hard-hitting album in its own right and may well turn on a few new ears that need awaking.

Their debut, vinyl-only single from a few months ago won't be on the album, but it gives a good idea of how the boys are approaching their old material. Rearranged for a power trio, mixed to mono, and frankly superior to the original (which I loved):

If it comes with a CD, I'm in. Hopefully there'll be some copies left for Allan to sell to us online.

The latest Retrosonic Podcast is a Forefathers special, with all three members present for an in-depth interview plus the world premiere of several tracks from Good Things:

Hello, in answer to the original post, when you buy the vinyl you also get the whole album on CD as well as a download code. We're trying to keep everyone happy in one package!! It will be available for pre-order from our new website http://www.gdandtheforefathers.co.uk very soon.

I should also say that the album will be available from Kool Kat Music, Get Hip and 13o'clock in the USA , although I can't say exactly when. Shouldn't be too long after the release date as long as they place their order with us soon... I assume that USA buyers will find it cheaper to buy from them rather than straight from us, if you're not impatient to get as soon as possible.

One of those three USA shops is offering the album (LP/CD combo) for $27. Would like to pick it up but too much $$ for my wallet. If it were CD alone for 10 bucks cheaper then I'd go for it.

Bump: The album is now up at Amazon UK via Allan Crockford's own account, State Records and other sellers, and I've added the order link to the first post. It can also be had from the Forefathers' website as mentioned by Allan a couple of posts up.

The MP3 is available on Amazon and CD Baby. Sadly that's probably the route I'll go (as it's more affordable) & then burn to a CD-R.
