for those of you unfamiliar with michael stanley he is from cleveland and has been huge locally for years and years. i have no idea why he never made it nationally, but i do know he really should have.

his recorded catalog is quite extensive, and i would compare him (roughly) to springsteen, seger, stills, walsh etc.

this new album is probably not the place to start, but if you ever come across a cheap copy of "right back at ya" ( an best of comp) treat yourself.

in a perfect world his song "lover" would have been a huge hit :(

He only had a handful of hits, (two of which reached the Top 40), but the entire "Right Back At Ya" compilation is phenomenal! 2008's "Just Another Night" is excellent, as well.

and considering his age stanley is still quite prolific, releasing an album a year of late, and they have all been quite good.

I always liked the Michael Stanley Band. They use to get good rational air play in rock radio in Florida.

These are my two go to albums: Image and personally fave Image.
