The Galileo 7 is the side project of Allan Crockford, bassist for the Prisoners, Prime Movers, Solarflares, Forefathers, et. al., here playing six-string and singing lead as well as composing the songs. The G7 is more of a psych-pop affair than the freakbeat racket of the aforementioned bands. It's all good, though. No ... it's all great. This will be their third album:
1. Don't Follow Me 2. My Cover Is Blown 3. You're Not Dreaming 4. False Memory Lane 5. Nobody Told You 6. Don't Know What I'm Waiting For 7. I'm Still Here 8. Tide's Rising 9. Fools 10. Don't Want To Know 11. Little By Little
"Mere Self Anomaly" Bonus CD EP (included with vinyl edition only): 1. Blank Spot 2. Over And Over 3. Reynard The Fox

Allan has posted some rough mixes from the forthcoming album to his SoundCloud page -- two superb original songs plus a cover of Julian Cope's "Reynard The Fox":

Really like those rough mixes. I hope this album is released on a cd that's easier to track down than Staring At The Sound was. If I remember right I finally scored a copy through Kool Kat.

Bump: Added the finalised cover image and track listing to the first post. In anticipation of the album's release, Allan has removed the rough demos from SoundCloud which were embedded upthread. There's going to be a standard CD edition, and also a deluxe vinyl edition that comes with a bonus CD EP of tracks that aren't on the CD album. It's not yet known what the initial distribution will be like, but I'm sure it will end up at Amazon in due course like the first two albums did.

Here's the title track:
The album will be available for pre-order directly from http://www.thegalileo7.co.uk beginning May 19th. I'll update the first post when sellers are stocking the physical editions at Amazon.

Another finished track:
Sounds like Allan is stretching out on this album. Not beyond the parameters of his tastes (or mine for that matter), but these new songs are surprising and delighting me. There are psychedelic and pop influences that I haven't heard before -- or haven't heard so prominently, let's say -- in the Prisoners family of bands over the years.

Hello, I stumbled on your forum by accident (trying to find reviews!). Glad you're liking the new material and thanks for taking an interest. The new album will be out next week, although there's a been a slight delay on the vinyl... the resurgence in popularity of vinyl recently means that all the pressing plants are overworked and some production schedules are slipping. It's only a few days though, and we'll be posting them out from Wednesday 28th onwards. Pre-orders of vinyl and CD from our website http://www.thegalileo7.co.uk, downloads from iTunes, Amazon etc from Monday. Cheers! Allan

Bump: Both the CD and vinyl editions are now available via Amazon UK, directly from Allan's third party seller storefront. Links added to the first post, along with the track listing for the bonus CD EP.

'If you ever play Tampa'...? If that happens, you'll definitely get a pass... Now all we need is someone to organise a few gigs in the USA. Piece of cake....
