New Black Keys Single "Fever" To Arrive Monday
The boys are back after a three-year gap.

by Bryce Seagall
http://revolt.tv/news/new-black-keys-si ... F991744408

It’s been seemingly non-stop for The Black Keys since the release of their runaway breakout Brothers, which took the duo from club-headlining indie darlings to commercial cash cows (seriously, these dudes have no qualms about licensing) in a single swoop. Following a mere year later with the equally-celebrated El Camino, we’ve now seen the single longest gap between BK albums in the group’s history, though that drought is soon to end with the announce of new single, "Fever," set to hit US rock radio this coming Monday at 3:30 EST / 12:30 PST.

As of now, no further details on a forthcoming LP are available, though we do know you can expect more info surrounding the release to arrive on Monday as well, with sources telling REVOLT the first track is, in a word, “Amazing."

Despite the three-year gap between records, the pair has stayed busy, with guitarist Dan Auerbach racking up production credits on albums for JEFF the Brotherhood, Ray LaMontagne, and most recently Lana Del Rey (and oh yeah, you know, taking home the Grammy for Producer of the Year back in 2013), while drummer Patrick Carney helmed records for The Sheepdogs and Tennis, alongside a high-profile beef with Justin Bieber, because hey, why not (and now that we think about it, Auerbach had that weird thing with Jack White too)?

As of now, Hangout Music Festival in Alabama stands as your lone chance to catch the group stateside before they head out for a fairly massive jaunt through the European festival scene, check out a full list of those dates, here.

Still in! No new ground broken, but it's vintage Black Keys.

Quote:
Akron, Ohio rockers, The Black Keys have teamed up with producer Danger Mouse for their new album, Turn Blue, which will be out on May 13. The album will be the first from the band since 2011′s excellent El Camino, which was also produced by Danger Mouse.

Building on the goodwill built by their 2010 LP Brothers, El Camino was a huge commercial success, selling over 200k copies in its début week and ultimately moving 1.1M discs in North America. This mainstream success earned the Black Keys Album and Record of the Year nominates at the 55th Grammy Awards.

Turn Blue‘s first single, “Fever” was released today, and sounds every bit a hit as “Lonely Boy” did back in 2011.

The Black Keys, Turn Blue Tracklist:
01 Weight of Love
02 In Time
03 Turn Blue
04 Fever
05 Year in Review
06 Bullet in the Brain
07 It’s Up to You Now
08 Waiting on Words
09 10 Lovers
10 In Our Prime
11 Gotta Get Away

Just got mine and I'm listening now. It is great so far. Not formulaic at all.

Never heard a slow grower by the Black Keys til this album. I'm liking it more with replays but I can't list it among their best.

I was blown away by the opening track (as indicated by my original post), but it's taking me longer to warm to the rest.
