The Strokes' Nick Valensi collaborating with Brody Dalle The guitarist is working on the former Spinnerette and Distillers frontwoman's solo album

The former frontwoman of The Distillers and Spinnerette has been recording her first solo album in California and recently posted a picture of Valensi on Instagram and thanked him for his playing, writing "Thank you Nicky Valensi for the radass guitar".

The album will be Dalle's first record since Spinnerette's self-titled debut album, which was released in 2009. Six months ago Dalle posted a picture of herself next to a microphone, with the caption "almost donesys".

Last year she wrote on Twitter that her first solo album will also feature appearances from Shirley Manson of Garbage and Queens Of The Stone Age's Michael Shuman as well as the band's longterm collaborator Alain Johannes.

In 2011 Dalle gave birth to her and Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme's second child.

Dalle released her first album with The Distillers in 2000. The punk band released three albums, before splitting in 2006.

She has since worked with Eagles Of Death Metal, Queens Of The Stone Age and Leftover Crack.
