On my radar. I'll take solo Bruce over solo Clapton any day.

Amazon had this for $3.97 yesterday. I snatched it up quick.

I think this might be what Larry is referring to -- Amazon USA's pre-order price for the import version of Silver Rails (the standard edition) is currently a crazy low $6.48. If it was $3.97 yesterday, that's even wilder. Let's lock it in:

And what a cast of players. Coming off the terrific Spectrum Road, this is a no-brainer, especially at that import price! Thanks, Linda and Larry!

Wish I would have caught that!

The $6.48 is tempting, but for me it's $6.48 + $3.99 + $0.63 = $11.10.

I'll probably wait for a free shipping/no sales tax offer. For someone with Prime in a non Amazon sales tax state, this would be a no brainer.

Being a Prime customer and at this ridiculous price I'm locked and loaded for the April 1st release (and this is no April's fool joke).

Does anyone know any further info regarding the bonus DVD? Definitely not worth the extra $11 if it's one of these twenty-minute featurette things, but on the other hand, if it has any actual complete song performances in the studio, acoustic or live tracks or bonus audio as the Deep Purple had, that might make it worthwhile...

I need $9.53 of a "3rd party fulfilled by Amazon item" (i.e. counts towards $35 shipping & no sales tax) to buy this & take advantage of a great deal on an Arthur Clarke DVD Box Set. Any suggestions?

You could get three of these, Geff:

Or other sleeves/cases shown on that page.

While my order has not been cancelled, Amazon is no longer showing them selling this edition directly AT ALL. The lowest price edition they currently show is this one at $11.88.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I3SVZM8/?tag=imwan-20

They also apparently had a big blu-ray snafu this morning where numerous Warner titles were marked down to $1.00 (by Amazon, not by 3rd party sellers) & most of the orders were cancelled.

I wonder what's up with the US release of this. My girlfriend ordered this for me — she has Prime — and got a message tonight saying they're still trying to obtain the item and wanted to know if they should keep trying. The US version now shows only the CD edition at a higher price and with no limited bonus DVD, and the date is April 15th. On the other hand, it came out in the UK March 24th and is available there now:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HYGTVOO/?tag=imwan-21

Maybe they decided to scrap the 2-disc version in the US?

EDIT: I sent an e-mail to Esoteric asking the status of the US release. Awaiting a reply...

I got a "your order is delayed. Is that ok?" email from Amazon tonight. Amazing timing, they must have read my post!

Okay, I don't know what's going on with this release!

Obviously, the earlier price for the import CD at $6.48 was a mistake, except Amazon does have their price guarantee which states, "Whenever you pre-order a book, CD, video, DVD, software, or video game, the price we charge when we ship it to you will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.com between the time you placed your order and the end of the day of the release date. A pre-order price guarantee message will appear on your Order Summary during the checkout process."

As Geff mentioned, the link Linda listed above for the import at $6.48 now doesn't show Amazon selling it at all, only a few private dealers for $17+. Sorry they made a mistake, but these e-mails saying they don't know if they can get the item seem to be a way of possibly backing out of selling it at the original pre-order price. It has been available in the UK for nine days now — it was released there 3/24 — so they can get it; I'm guessing they just don't want to, at $6.48...

And additionally, I'm told they cancelled most of the mistakenly priced $1.00 Warner Brothers blu-ray orders from yesterday.

Pricing errors aren't covered in the guarantee. Amazon has always been upfront about that. I feel that this is something where we should be happy when such a price is honoured (which happened most recently with the Judas Priest box), but not surprised or upset when such a price is cancelled.

And it always pays to take a chance on ordering when we find such a price.

That would mean we'd have to stop bitching when Best Buy does the same thing!

I'm not sure at this point that there was ever a Deluxe Edition intended for domestic release. (And I've clarified the links in the first post to denote this.)
