Isn't her next record going to be a Christmas album? Maybe not, but I thought she said that was her plan during the publicity of Tears, Lies, & Alibis (which I listened to again just yesterday).

Shelby Lynne: New album, 'Revelation Road', coming in October By Lawrence F. Specker, Press-Register
Shelby Lynne has announced plans to release a new album, titled “Revelation Road,” in October.
Lynne is a Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and actress who grew up in southwest Alabama and graduated from Theodore High School. The new album will be her third release on her independent Everso Records label, after 2010’s “Tears, Lies and Alibis” and a Christmas album.
According to a statement released Monday, Lynne is writing, recording and producing the new album. A track listing was released, but no musical details were given.
“I just wanted to do something that was so damn real,” Lynne said in the release. “The heartbeat of the song has to come through. Hopefully people will listen to the songs and see that I put my heart and my soul into this thing.” “Revelation Road” will be released Oct. 18. According to Lynne’s publicist, the title track will be unveiled Aug. 15 at http://www.pastemagazine.com.
The “Tears, Lies and Alibis” tour brought Lynne to the Mobile Saenger Theatre in 2010, and she visited the venue again since then with sister Allison Moorer. But fall tour dates announced Monday fall primarily on the West Coast and northeastern U.S. The tour’s first date, a Sept. 30 show in Carrboro, N.C., appears to be the closest she’ll come to Alabama.

lynne’s new album, set for october 18th release // August 1st, 2011 // News
After two highly acclaimed self-released albums in 2010, Shelby Lynne is not content to sit back and take time off. Following a year on the road, the fiercely independent musician is back in the studio working on a new album – writing, recording and producing the collection herself. Entitled Revelation Road, it is her most personal album ever. It will be released on October 18th by the independent label she founded, EVERSO Records, which is distributed by Fontana. See below for track listing.
“I just wanted to do something that was so damn real,” says Lynne. “The heartbeat of the song has to come through.”
On August 15th, Pastemagazine.com will premiere the title track, “Revelation Road.” A stirring reflection on reckoning and redemption, “Revelation Road” is the first single and will be available on iTunes beginning August 16th.
“Shelby Lynne makes you woozy, and you can’t help it. We prefer to think of her as indie as heck, as resolutely so as the band hiding away in the basement, making music it loves away from the prying eyes of The Man. The forearms have sinew, the voice is backed by steel and Lynne is in full control. Of everything,” said the Chicago Tribune. “Try to find a female vocalist with a more heart-worn and affecting voice; I dare you,” said Oxford American editors, placing Lynne at #3 on their list of the Top 15 Contemporary Alabama acts.
Tears, Lies And Alibis, Lynne’s first release on EVERSO Records, debuted at No. 16 on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart in April 2010 and became a Top 10 hit at Americana radio. People Magazine awarded it 3 ½ stars while Newsday gave it an A-, noting: “Shelby Lynne can do it all, and she proves it on ‘Tears, Lies and Alibis’…her strongest album in a decade,” Merry Christmas, which Parade Magazine called “an instant classic,” was released last October.
Lynne will be touring this fall in conjunction with the release of Revelation Road. See below for tour dates.

coming to cleveland!
to the worst venue in town. no seats, all standing room, people walk around and talk, go to the bar. horrible place for a show, more for the young crowd, this choice puzzles me.

I can't stand venues that don't have seats. I am far too old to spend an evening standing, and that definitely makes me think twice about going to certain concerts. However, I might make an exception if Shelby schedules a Pittsburgh date

She and her sister have done some things together, but their musics are different. Maybe she, her sister, and Steve Earle can get together and do something!
