A tribute to the deceased musician Kirsty MacColl, the concert, which took place in 2010, featured a dozen of Kirsty’s best-loved songs performed by Alison Moyet, Andrea Corr, Ellie Goulding, Amy MacDonald and others.

I don't know...I love Kirsty MacColl, but I typically find these kinds of releases to be pointless and boring. I listen to them a time or two and then they get filed forever. Maybe this one will be different?

I can think of no celebrity death that moved me like Kirsty's did. I had known of her for years but an impulse purchase of her "Mambo de la Luna" CD single several months earlier had convinced me that I needed to hear a lot more of her. I had just started collecting her albums when I found out she had died.

As far as this release is concerned, I'm glad Kirsty's fellow artists remember her and I'm glad this CD exists, although I basically agree with Walter's comments about these kind of releases. Some of this should be interesting but you can't beat the originals.

Release date changed to 2/25 and will now coincide with that of the new hits collection "A New England."
