Noel Gallagher confirms solo career plan
Noel Gallagher has confirmed that he plans to embark on a solo career following the break-up of Oasis in August.
The guitarist told the Daily Mirror that he was looking forward to releasing music of his own now he was free of the band's shackles.
"I'm looking forward to doing my own thing, bringing out my own music," he said. "I'm glad that's what people want to hear. I am not thinking about much else, Oasis or Liam, I'm just having a good time."
Liam Gallagher recently said that he too would continue to make music, but not under the Oasis guise, as had previously been rumoured.

Noel Gallagher: 'No new music 'til I finish changing nappies'
Noel Gallagher has ruled out making any new music until next year, because he will be busy changing nappies.
The guitarist, who is expected to embark on a solo career following Oasis' split last year, warned fans they will have to be patient over new music.
"I'm moving house and my missus is nine months pregnant so I'm not doing anything until well into next year," he told BBC News. "I'll be doing nappies and all that malarkey."
Gallagher played two solo shows earlier this year for the Teenage Cancer Trust, though he did not include any new material in his sets.

Noel Gallagher's solo material "totally amazing"
Alan McGee, the man who signed Oasis to his Creation Records label, has revealed that he has heard Noel Gallagher's new solo songs and that he believes them to be the equal of 'Live Forever'.
The guitarist/songwriter has remained uncharacteristically silent (at least considering he's no longer sharing a stage with Liam) since Oasis split in 2009, but it seems that Noel's just been hard at work.
"The reason that guy is quiet is he knows what he's got up his sleeve," Alan McGee told BBC 6 Music. "Noel's demos are absolutely amazing. Totally amazing. He's got three tunes there that are as good as anything - as 'Live Forever' or 'Don't Look Back In Anger'."

Miles Kane reveals new Noel Gallagher album collaborations
Miles Kane has revealed that Noel Gallagher sings on his forthcoming solo album – while Kane plays guitar on the ex-Oasis man's forthcoming solo effort.
The Last Shadow Puppets member played a solo gig at London's Water Rats venue last night (November 23), where he explained that Gallagher features on a song called 'My Fantasy'.
"I texted him [Gallagher] saying, 'I need some icing on this tune,' and he said, 'Icing is what I do very well,'" Kane told BBC Newsbeat. "I'm very honoured that he did it. It's a nice little touch."
Kane's album is set to be released in early 2011, but Gallagher's is not expected to be released any time soon. He has said it won't be released until "well into" 2011 at the earliest.

Liam Gallagher: 'I'll listen to Noel's solo album'
Liam Gallagher is still keen to hear his brother Noel's solo album when it emerges, he has admitted.
The ex-Oasis siblings remain estranged since the band split in 2009. Liam and the rest of the band, minus Noel, are preparing to release their debut album as Beady Eye.
But talking to Vanity Fair, Liam claimed that the brothers would still take an interest in each other's work.
"He's [Noel] a music lover, so I'm sure he'll have his ear out," he said. "I'm sure it's not gonna make or break his day."
He went on to profess an interest in what Noel would come out with next. "I'll give a listen to it when it comes out," he said. "But it ain't gonna make or break my fucking day, you know what I mean? You don't just turn off 'cause you're not in a band together. He'll be checking [our album] out. Of course he will."
Beady Eye's debut album, 'Different Gear, Still Speeding', is released on February 28. Noel Gallagher has no scheduled plan for his solo material yet.

Noel Gallagher: 'I've not started my solo album yet'
Noel Gallagher has claimed that he has not yet started work in his debut solo album.
The former Oasis guitarist had been rumoured to have been recording his album already, with solo artist Miles Kane saying he'd played guitar on it.
But, speaking to radio station Talksport today (February 9), Gallagher claimed he hadn’t even started the project yet – or at least full recording sessions.
"I am not recording new stuff, not just yet," he said. "It'll be out when it's finished I guess. Well, I've not even started it, so I don't know."
He added, rather logically following his previous statement, that it was unlikely that the album would emerge in the near future. "I'd have thought probably if anything comes out it'll be later rather than sooner," he said.
He also told the station that he had secured the rights to the domain name Noelgallagher.com over a year ago, contrary to recent tabloid reports.

Liam Gallagher: 'Noel has definitely written his solo album'
Liam Gallagher has said he believes his brother Noel has already started work on his solo album.
Earlier this month Noel Gallagher said he hadn't started recording the album yet, but Liam said he knows better.
"I reckon he's written it," he told XFM. "He's probably going down that Radiohead thing – it's probably out already! He's definitely written it, he's been in the studio for ages. So I don't know what he's talking about."
He added that he'd be "interested to hear it, to see if I'm on it in the background somewhere".

Ex-Oasis man Noel Gallagher 'banging out tunes' in LA studio
Noel Gallagher is working on new material in Los Angeles, according to You Me At Six singer Josh Franceschi.
Last night (March 23) Franceschi wrote on Twitter.com/joshmeatsix that the ex-Oasis man was working in the same studio as his band.
"Can hear Noel from Oasis blasting his new tunes from the studio next door," he wrote. "Absolutely mental."
The Surrey quintet are currently recording their third album in the US city.
Last month Gallagher claimed that he hadn't started work on his solo album yet. His brother Liam, now fronting Beady Eye, said he reckoned that he had, though.
Also last November Miles Kane said he'd been working with Noel on his first post-Oasis solo album.

Noel Gallagher shoots music video in California?
Noel Gallagher has apparently shot the music video for his first single.
Cameraman Nito Serna tweeted on Saturday (May 7) via Twitter.com/nitoserna that he was working on a video for the former Oasis man. He wrote: "Music video for Noel Gallagher out at Club Ed. Epic camera, techno crane. Should be an interesting day." The tweet has since been removed.
Club Ed is a permanent film set in California that was originally built for the 1991 film Eye Of The Storm and has been featured in various movies since. Gallagher is believed to have been recording his solo album in Los Angeles recently.
The guitarist's spokesperson has yet to respond to a request to confirm whether the shoot referenced was indeed for the ex-Oasis man's first solo single.
However, the spokesperson did recently deny that a Twitter page set up in Gallagher's name was genuine. The page features a solo album release date of September 12, with some media sources picking up on the unverified information. "It's not official," the spokesperson said. "None of the information on it is correct."

Noel Gallagher's single named 'The Death Of You And Me'?
Noel Gallagher has named his new single 'The Death Of You And Me', according to a production company he has been linked with.
In A Place Productions, a company in Los Angeles, posted a response on their Facebook page to a question about the former Oasis man's new video. They confirmed that they are shooting the clip for the track.
They also said the song was called 'The Death Of You And Me' and that "it wouldn't be out until the end of the summer." The posting has since been taken down, and Gallagher's spokesperson is yet to respond to a request for confirmation or denial on the single title.
The news comes after cameraman Nito Serna recently tweeted via Twitter.com/nitoserna that he was working on a video for Gallagher. He wrote: "Music video for Noel Gallagher out at Club Ed. Epic camera, techno crane. Should be an interesting day." That tweet was also removed soon after it went up.

Noel Gallagher to announce solo release details on Wednesday (July 6)?
Noel Gallagher is set to hold a press conference on Wednesday (July 6), where he is expected to announce details of his debut solo release.
According to The Sun, the singer/guitarist will announce "all the details" about his future plans at the summit, which will come just under two years since Gallagher split Oasis after an apparent altercation with brother Liam in Paris.
Gallagher is believed to have been working on material in a Los Angeles studio in recent months, although details of the sessions have been closely guarded - bar a couple of notable leaks.
Last month, video production company In A Place Productions claimed that his debut solo single would be titled 'The Death Of You And Me'.
The Los Angeles-based firm confirmed it was working on the video and posted a message about the the clip on its Facebook page .
The posting was subsequently taken down and Gallagher's spokesperson is yet to respond to a request for confirmation or denial on the single title.
Cameraman Nito Serna also recently tweeted that he was working on a video for Gallagher at the Club Ed film set in California.
He wrote: "Music video for Noel Gallagher out at Club Ed. Epic camera, techno crane. Should be an interesting day." That tweet was also removed soon after it went up.
You Me At Six singer Josh Franceschi also gave an update of sorts on Gallagher's progress in March after the band recorded in the same studio at Gallagher
"Can hear Noel from Oasis blasting his new tunes from the studio next door. Absolutely mental," he wrote on his Twitter page, Twitter.com/joshmeatsix.

Noel Gallagher announces full debut solo album details
Noel Gallagher has announced full details of his new solo debut album 'High Flying Birds' at a London press conference.
The ex-Oasis guitarist said his new record will be released on his own label Sour Mash on October 17 and will be followed up by a second collaboration LP in 2012 with Amorphous Androgynous.
Gallagher is also due to tour in the autumn and he has launched his own official website, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and MySpace. No material has been posted up on any site so far.
The full tracklisting for 'High Flying Birds' is as follows:
'Everybody's On The Run' 'Dream On' 'If I Had A Gun' 'The Death Of You And Me' '(I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine' 'AKA...What A Life!' 'Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks' 'AKA....Broken Arrow' '(Stranded On) The Wrong Beach' 'Stop The Clocks'
Rumours surfaced earlier this year that the first single from the record will be the 'The Death Of You And Me'.
Although the track does feature on the record, it is yet to be confirmed as the album's official first single.

Noel Gallagher: 'Liam nearly took my face off with a guitar'
Noel Gallagher has revealed that brother Liam "nearly took his face off" with a guitar on the night he quit the band.
Noel walked out on Oasis in August 2009 after a fierce argument backstage at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris and has now revealed that after a storming row, brother Liam came back into the band's dressing room and was "wielding a guitar like an axe."
Speaking earlier today at a press conference, Gallagher said of the incident: "He'd gone into his private dressing room and he'd picked up this guitar. He came back in and he was wielding it about like an axe. He was quite violent. At that point there was no physical violence but there was a lot of World Wrestling Federation stuff. It was an unnecessarily violent act and he nearly took my face off."
Gallagher also responded to a question about whether he'd left Oasis as he'd achieved everything he wanted by saying: "I hadn't had enough of Oasis, I'd had enough of Liam."
The guitarist added that he regretted walking out on the band in the way he did, because he now believed they could have stayed together after a long break.
He added: "We only had two gigs left. I wish we'd done those gigs, gone away, gone on hiatus and done our own thing and maybe it wouldn't have happened. But then Liam always said he would bring down Armageddon eventually."
Gallagher also said that relations with his brother were still not good, adding: "Liam doesn't like me. I don't get on with him but he doesn't like me in a very violent way. I did everyone a favour when I left."
Noel announced earlier today that he will release two solo albums over the next 12 months. The first, which is titled 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds', is out on October 17.

Liam Gallagher tweets 'SHITBAG' after Noel's album announcement
Liam Gallagher has taken to his rarely used Twitter account on the day his brother Noel unveiled details of his solo career.
Writing on Twitter.com/liamgallagher, the singer simply wrote: "SHITBAG" at just after 2pm (BST) this afternoon.
Though there is no way of formally proving what Liam was reacting to, it seems reasonable to suggest that he may be reacting to brother Noel's revelation that Liam wielded a guitar like an axe" and "nearly took his face off" on the night the band split up in Paris.
Noel had also revealed at a press conference for the announcement for his debut solo album 'Noel Gallagher And The High Flying Birds' that he left Oasis as "I'd had enough of Liam."
He also detailed that the row that ultimately led to the split of Oasis came from Liam's wish to put an advert for his clothing range Pretty Green in the band's tour programme.
Noel initially refused and then told his brother he'd have to pay to advertise, which led to the row and the band's demise.

Noel Gallagher confirms he will play Oasis songs on October tour
Noel Gallagher has confirmed he will be touring the UK in the autumn and will be playing Oasis songs as part of his live set.
Speaking earlier today (July 6) at a press conference to launch his new solo album 'Noel Gallagher And The High Flying Birds', he confirmed that he would be touring in the week after the album is released on October 17. He also confirmed that the first show would be in Dublin on October 23 and that the tour would take in Manchester, London and Glasgow.
He said: "We're going to go out on tour a week after the album is out. We're going to start off slow in small theatres. If it's [his solo album] good enough to get bigger than that then it’ll get bigger than that."
Gallagher added that he would tour again in 2012 and more extensively. He said: "I don't think they’ll be a huge great big tour this year. I think this year it’ll be a quick whizz around the world and try and do the major cities and then it will probably be a bigger tour next year."
He also indicated that he would definitely be playing Oasis songs on the tour, saying: "The album lasts for 46 minutes and 12 seconds, so I will play some Oasis songs. They're my songs and I wrote them on my own. I'm proud of them and I'm proud of where they sit with what I've done now. I don’t think I'd ever do a gig without playing them."
