Wishbone Ash - Elegant Stealth Info from http://wishboneash.com/blog/post/the_new_album/October 26, 2011 by Joe Crabtree Elegant Stealth, the brand new album from Wishbone Ash, will be released on 25th November 2011. We're very excited about this release - the culmination of 2 years of writing and recording sessions. Featuring guest artists Don Airey (Deep Purple / Ozzy Osbourne / Black Sabbath) and Pat McManus (Mamas Boys / Celtus / Pat McManus Band) it's the most adventurous Wishbone album for many years. The band are all very proud and happy with the finished product. If you'd like to see some of the writing process and witness the birth of some of the songs on the album check out "This is Wishbone Ash" - a documentary about the writing of the album in France. The track listing is: 1. Reason To Believe 2. Warm Tears 3. Man With No Name 4. Can't Go It Alone 5. Give It Up 6. Searching For Satellites 7. Heavy Weather 8. Mud-slick 9. Big Issues 10. Migrant Worker 11. Invisible Thread It will be available as CD or digital download. Check back here on the 25th November for links to purchase... And tell your friends! .......................... [Joe Crabtree is Ash's drummer] Preorder link at Amazon (not sure I am doing this right): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005OSFSSW/?tag=imwan-20Amazon says it is coming out 11/21, but Ash's website says the 25th. Either way I can't wait to hear it.

Thanks for posting this! I'm sure I'll buy this eventually, though I'm no longer feeling the need to buy WA releases (other than vault) the day they come out. I'm curious if the dl version will be .flac, & how much they're going to charge.
Just went to their site. There's also a fairly recent live cd called Roadworks that I hadn't previously heard of. it appears to be on their website only.
I apparently dropped off of their email list. Wonder if my isp has them on a blacklist for some reason?

I'm on 3rd play. So far I haven't been able to really get into this one.

A Wishbone Ash is playing outside Philly April 26. Which one is this and it is legit? Is it the one that made this album?

There are currently 2 WA's, each with one original member.
The one calling themselves "Wishbone Ash" has Andy Powell. The other is calling themselves "Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash", & has........... Martin Turner!
I THINK the Powell version is doing a US tour, though no Seattle dates afaik.

Invisible Pedestrian wrote: A Wishbone Ash is playing outside Philly April 26. Which one is this and it is legit? Is it the one that made this album? Andy's band, yes and yes. That band is "the real deal". Andy never left Ash and has kept it going all these years throughout various lineups, still carrying on the old classics but making new albums too. I consider this band to be "Wishbone Ash". This is the band that made the new Wishbone Ash album. Ash are playing in Sellersville I think next month, I forget the exact date. It's a great little venue and highly recommend both it and the band. They play a good assortment of old classics plus new songs. The guitar work between Andy and his foil Muddy is stellar. If you decide to go let me know, I should be there, we can finally meet up. Martin's band has never played outside the UK btw. Martin's band is officially called "Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash" so hopefully people in the UK know which lineup they are getting when they go to a gig but unfortunately it seems like promoters/adverts get it confused all the time.

Wishbone Ash will be kicking off the North American leg of their current global tour next week on April 24, 2012. The tour, which began in Europe early this year, celebrates the release of Elegant Stealth, the group's latest studio album. Glass Onyon sent over these details:
Elegant Stealth represents a benchmark in the evolution of Wishbone Ash. Signature twin-lead melodies and a powerhouse rhythm section frame 11 new tracks that reflect a diverse realm of styles and moods.
Formed in 1969, Wishbone Ash has more than 20 original studio recordings and several live albums to their credit. On Elegant Stealth, the group coalesces around strong songwriting and serious chops. Founding member Andy Powell handles lead vocals and trades licks with Finland's guitar wizard Muddy Manninen. Bassist Bob Skeat, a 14-year veteran of the band and in-demand studio musician, sets the pace with Joe Crabtree, one of the best of Britain's new breed of drummers, having played with Pendragon and David Cross of King Crimson.
The band demonstrates its versatility on Elegant Stealth, from the pop/rocker "Reason to Believe" to the gentler vibe of "Give it Up" to tunes like "Warm Tears" and "Big Issues," where the band gets to stretch out and flex its musical muscles.
Classic Rock Revisited ranked Elegant Stealth No. 8 in its Top 40 New Releases of 2011, and Classic Rock Revisited's Jeb Wright called it "one of the best albums in Wishbone Ash's 42 year career."
Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck of MuzikReviews.com said, "This band is like a fine wine that just keeps getting better with age and this is one of their strongest studio releases in years."
"The songs are catchy, very technical, but there is a soul in what Wishbone Ash is doing!" said Mark Kadzielawa of 69 Faces of Rock.
Citing Wishbone Ash as an influence on their style, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Southern Rock outfits like Lynyrd Skynyrd and, more recently, heavyweights like Opeth and some of the guitar-based Indie/Alternative bands, have all taken a little something from the legendary twin-guitar approach of Wishbone Ash. Truly, there is no other rock band on the planet that has done more with the twin guitar concept than the Ash.

Sometimes music is so bloody dependent on my mood. Listening to this for the 4th time at the moment, & this time I like it.

What about the twin lead guitar of The Allman Brothers, they have been at it since 1969.
