Product Description
The Red Button, the power pop duo of Seth Swirsky and Mike Ruekberg, took the pop world by storm with their debut album She's About to Cross My Mind in 2007. Now, they're back with their eagerly-awaited follow-up of 12 new pop gems As Far As Yesterday Goes. Like their first album, which won many of the important Year-End polls for Album of 2007 -- and was #1 on Little Steven's Coolest Songs in the World Chart -- As Far As Yesterday Goes brings the jangle!! Filled with Beatles-era melodies, harmonies and concise song construction, the new album continues where they left off. Swirsky, writer of hits for many recording artists over the years is also a successful solo artist in his own right having just won Pop Song of the Year at the 2010 Hollywood Music Awards with the title track of his latest album, Watercolor Day. Ruekberg is well known as one of the top singer-songwriters on the L. A. scene. They knew they had something special when they first met in 2005. In 2007, the influential music magazine Shindig hailed Swirsky and Ruekberg as the new Power Pop Princes.

Even though I liked their debut album better, the new Red Button is my favorite power pop release of the year (so far). Swirsky's solo discs are also worth picking up for anyone who likes the Red Button.
