Greg Dulli is such a musical chameleon. The studio recordings he makes are in SHARP contrast to live performances. His show at the Troubadour several months back in support of Dynamite Steps was ethereal, while a performance crosstown in Silverlake was a sweaty, booty-shakin' funk bag of a soul revue! I've been listening to Dynamite Steps for over a month now, and still can't quite form an opinion (other than it's a logical followup to Powder Burns). The CD never rises to the passion of the stage shows, but there are some beautiful melodies not to missed for sure.
