Product Description
This fourth album from highly acclaimed American indie-folksinger-songwriter Sam Beam is the follow-up to 2007's 'The Shepherd's Dog'. His first album for the cult 4AD label following his departure from Sub Pop, it is released in the United States by Warner Bros. Described by Beam himself as a more pop-oriented record inspired by 70s FM radio, this looks set to bring his melancholy, literate songwriting to a whole new audience.

1. Walking Far From Home
2. Me And Lazarus
3. Tree By The River
4. Monkeys Uptown
5. Half Moon
6. Rabbit Will Run
7. Godless Brother In Love
8. Big Burned Hand
9. Glad Man Singing
10. Your Fake Name Is Good Enough For Me

Sam Beam has revealed that his first album for a major label in his Iron & Wine guise will see him leave his folk roots behind for a more radio-friendly, 1970s pop sound.

‘Kiss Each Other Clean’ – which is set for release in January – is Beam’s fourth album, but his first since he left Sub Pop for Warner Bros in the US.

"It sounds like the music people heard in their parent's car growing up," Beam has told Spin.

The album’s 10 tracks were recorded in Chicago and Beam’s hometown of Austin and produced by Brian Deck.

Clarinet and saxophone on the album comes courtesy of Dave Sitek collaborator Stuart Bogie.

Beam has also experimented with other genres on the record as well as classic AOR. He revealed: "There are straight-up jazz, blues, and African elements."

This guy is a real talent. He's already building quite a catalog of excellent releases. Iron & Wine is one of the few artists who's new releases are automatic buys for me right now.

While I appreciate the spirit of creative experimentation, this is my least favorite Iron & Wine disc so far. There are some very good songs on it, but it's really all over the map in terms of style, and some of it isn't very appealing to me.
