Product Description
Multi-platinum rock band Bush return with their highly anticipated new album, The Sea of Memories. Recorded with producer Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Metallica), The Sea of Memories is the seminal band’s first studio release in 10 years. The album captures the electricity and trademark intensity of classic Bush delivered in a setting that’s fresh and alive. Songs like “The Sound of Winter,” “Heart of the Matter” and “All Night Doctors” are propelled by heavy guitar and hypnotic beats, simple song structures and sublime textures.

About the album, Rossdale says, “When making music, you have a choice to repeat what you’ve done or move on. It would’ve been safe to just rework (1994’s debut album) ‘Sixteen Stone’ over and over, but what kind of life would that be? When you’re driving down the road, you’re focused on what’s in front of you; you don’t really think to keep checking in your rear view mirror. I like the idea of art changing, developing and morphing.”

1. The Mirror Of The Signs
2. The Sound Of Winter
3. All My Life
4. The Afterlife
5. All Night Doctors
6. Baby Come Home
7. Red Light
8. She's A Stallion
9. I Believe In You
10. Stand Up
11. The Heart Of The Matter
12. Be Still My Love

Bush To Release 'Sea of Memories' Album in September
by Sophie Schillaci and Shirley Halperin, THR | July 11, 2011 11:45 EDT

For the first time since their 2002 disbandment, Bush is back.

The Gavin Rossdale-led band, perhaps best known for a string of wildly successful '90s hits including "Glycerine" and "Machinehead," are set to debut a brand new album on September 13 -- with a few changes.

"The Sea of Memories" will be released on their very own Zuma Rock Records through an exclusive partnership with eOne music. Having sold millions of albums during their time with Interscope, "The Sea of Memories" marks the band's first indie release.

Two new faces join the group, as well. Opting not to return, bassist Dave Parsons and guitarist Nigel Pulsford have been replaced by Corey Britz and Chris Traynor respectively.

"The Sea of Memories" will include tracks like "The Sound of Winter," "Hearts of the Matter" and "All Night Doctor," featuring guitar heavy melodies combined with simple song structure and layers of rich texture. Producing the album is Bob Rock, who has worked previously with Aerosmith and Metallica, and aims to deliver the same level of classic Bush intensity with a fresh sound.

"When making music, you have a choice to repeat what you've done or move on," said frontman Rossdale. "It would've been safe to just rework 'Sixteen Stone' over and over, but what kind of life would that be? When you're driving down the road, you're focused on what's in front of you; you don't really think to keep checking in your rear view mirror. I like the idea of changing, developing and morphing."

The band is currently finalizing plans for a fall tour, but will kick off their comeback with a performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" July 21. Additionally, they have scheduled performances at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City for July 28 (for which tickets sold out in less than one minute) and at the Sunset Strip Music Festival in Los Angeles on August 20.

Pulsford was a big part of the band's sound... wonder what the new guys will bring to the table.

Hear Bush’s comeback single 'The Sound Of Winter' – audio

Bush have posted their comeback single 'The Sound Of Winter' online, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to hear it.

The band, who feature Gavin Rossdale as their frontman, last released an album in 2001 with their fourth effort 'Golden State', but have now completed work on their new LP, 'The Sea Of Memories'.

The album has a scheduled release date of September 12, with tracks confirmed to appear including 'Mirror Of The Signs', 'All Night Doctors', 'Heart Of The Matter', 'Lost In You', 'Heroes Never Die' and 'All My Life'.

During their 10 year gap between albums, Rossdale has pursued an acting career and recorded a solo album 'WANDERlust', which was released in 2008. Drummer Robin Goodridge had a brief spell as a member of The Darkness' offshoot band Stone Gods, while guitarist Chris Traynor toured as part of Rival Schools and alongside Rossdale on his solo projects.

The band have lined up comeback gigs for later this summer, at New York's Bowery Ballroom (July 28) and Sunset Strip Music Festival in Los Angeles (August 20). They have not said whether they plan to tour Europe in the coming months.

I used to love Bush in secondary school. And, for the record Bush was the first concert I ever went to to. Followed five days later by Metallica (both were at the US Air Arena, before it was demolished). Now I am not a fan.

I have not seen a list of the Target bonus tracks. Are these different?

Bites no one has all bonus trax in one place. I'm not a big enough fan to buy this 2x.

Interesting Wallymart on line isn't saying what their bonus trax are (I'm sure PGH is right, just weird Wally Mart isn't pushing it). There's is also $1.89 more then Targets.

Here's a link for the seller on Ebay, which shows the back cover and tracklisting. I am a sucker for that Joy Division song, so I might have to get that one!

The Good: The songs, the main album is quite good.

The Bad: The Target bonus disc is intensely brick-walled, screechy, etc. The main disc has a good amount of this also,
but the bonus disc is MUCH WORSE & is almost unlistenable due to the compression.

The first 2 remixes on the bonus disc are Techno & Hip-Hop respectively. Especially the Hip Hop mix is totally inappropriate.
They are both God awful. The 3rd remix removes the drums & bass totally & is ok, though not essential. I think the 3 exclusive
songs are ok, but I'm going to need to hear them with a strong upper midrange cut before I can tell you for sure.

Though I haven't heard the Walmart bonus disc, my suggestion would be buy that one.

The Target bonus disc is so badly eq'd & compressed that I am likely going to rip both discs & digitally re-eq leaving the first 2
remixes off my comp. I have only done this with one other disc, Gary Moore Live At Monsters Of Rock that was even more
compressed then this. I was able to make it listenable, though not great sounding..
