steve lukather is kind of an enigma.

he is very good, yet never received the acclaim he probably should have.

must have something to do with always being in a band.

i must say though, in my opinion, his solo albums were not very good at all.

I liked Ever Changing Times, but I think he can do better. I think Luke should get credit for not saving his best songs for solo projects (i.e. he was a team player). For instance, I thought "Bottom Of Your Soul" from the last Toto album was one of his best efforts. Here's hoping this album is a good one.

I have been watching this board for a long time and hardly post. Saw the above about thinking Lukather's solo albums were not very good and had to scramble to find my imwan login ID and password. Steve Lukather's "Candyman" from 1994 and "Luke" from 1997 were GREAT solo albums. Lukather is very under appreciated. I've seen him live several times and he put on an outstanding show each time. It's always very evident that he loves playing music and loves to entertain. I am very anxious to hear the new CD.

"Luke" is an outstanding album IMO and as good as any Toto album and one of my favorite cd's of 1997 or of any year for that matter.
