I can't remember if this was ever posted here, but back of Feb. 11, Sam Phillips released a new ep, titled, "Magic For Everyone," for Valentine's Day on her "The Long Play" subscription website. It features five tracks in mp3, FLAC, and Apple Lossless formats:

Always Merry and Bright
Magic For Everyone
Trouble
Lever Pulled Down
Tell her What She Wants To Know

Great stuff! This is my favorite of the three eps she's released through The Long Play so far.

And I just want to add that "Tell Her What She Wants To Know" is a new recording of the song from the tv soundtrack of The Gilmore Girls, it is not the same version on the tv soundtrack. In fact it is a much better recording, in my opinion. (I admit I bought The Gilmore Girls soundtrack for all of Sam's musical bits, and deleted the rest.)

Here's an e-mail that I received yesterday from Sam Phillips and her "The Long Play" subscription website:

My dear Long Play subscribers,

I want to send this 3rd EP, "Magic For Everybody", out into the world beyond our cozy Long Play campfire and I am hoping that is okay with all of you. I am finishing the recording of an additional song to send to you soon that will not be available to those on “the outside”. The EP will be available through iTunes, Amazon, and other digital music stores on April 20th. As "Magic For Everybody" makes it’s way to….well, everybody, on April 20th, you will be getting the 4th Long Play EP entitled "Old Tin Pan". I found the songs for "Old Tin Pan" in my grandmother’s attic and have brushed them off, cleaned them up and made digital records out of them for you. Until then, keep your gaze steady and long….

All the best from Sam
