Description
"Made In Sheffield" is a personal opus to the city of Sheffield by legendary crooner Tony Christie. Finding fame in the 1960s, Christie is known for being a unique performer amongst his peers and this has won him a whole new generation of fans. Singing songs written by Sheffield songwriters - including Richard Hawley (who also co-produced the record), Jarvis Cocker and Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) - this is a warm and sumptuous record with real character. Includes the songs 'Cole's Corner' and 'Louise'.

1. Only Ones Who Know
2. Perfect Moon
3. Born To Cry
4. All I Ever Care About Is You
5. Going Home Tomorrow
6. Louise
7. Danger Is A Woman In Love
8. I'll Never Let You Down
9. How Can I Entertain
10. Paradise Square
11. Cole's Corner

I highly recommend this disc; Tony Christie's come a long way from "Is This The Way To Amarillo?" with this beautiful record. I can only describe it as alt-pop songs cushioned in sumptuous, string-laden arrangements, sung alternately forcefully and wistfully by Christie. MADE IN SHEFFIELD was definitely one of this year's biggest surprises, and I'm happy to see Christie rescued from a fate of recording covers for budget compilations!

Tony actually had a comeback with a remake of Amarillo prior to this.
