British Sea Power to record soundtrack to 1930s film

Nov 5, 2008

British Sea Power have revealed that they are planning to record a soundtrack to Robert Flaherty's 1934 film 'Man Of Aran'.

Writing in a blog on the band's website, guitarist Noble said that the band are due to head into the studio to record the soundtrack after they finish their current tour.

He said: "We have one more show in Istanbul this year and then we can start writing and recording again.

"First up will be the recording of our soundtrack to Robert Flaherty's film 'Man Of Aran', followed by a live performance of it at the BFI sometime next spring."

The film is set on the Aran Islands off the western coast of Ireland. The band recently told Metro that Flaherty's estate were hoping to release a DVD of the film along with their soundtrack.

British Sea Power previewed an early version of the soundtrack at their Tan Hill festival in August. To see fan footage of the performance, scroll down now.
