This is a new country rock band. Very strong songs and if I had to compare it to someone it would be very similar to the Michael Nesmith songs that he did with the Monkees. Very recommended.

Review
Such joyous music-making, such corrosive, acid-etched lyrics. Way cosmic. --William Michael Smith, No Depression

Product Description
Hallowed Ground is the fourth release from country/rock/folk/psychedelic act I See Hawks In L.A. Formed in 1999 by songwriting team Rob Waller and Paul Lacques, the Hawks have traveled far from their humble back porch in sunny southern California. In 2001, their eponymous debut established the Hawks signature sound: high lonesome three part harmonies, twang guitar and unadorned acoustic arrangements, with lyrics musing on mortality, whales, and the geography of a fading pre-apocalyptic L.A. Fan favorite Grapevine followed in 2004 with California Country emerging in 2006. Legendary California country artists such as The Byrd's Chris Hillman joined in and strummed right along. And now here's Hallowed Ground. The album carries much that Hawks fans have grown to expect: those beautiful harmonies, timeless songwriting, and epic psychedelic guitar and steel. The Hawks have hit their stride. These songs cover a wide ranging territory, yet it all fits together into the Hawks underlying philosophy of Nature versus Man versus Miller Beer. One moment you are riding high on a Topanga ridge watching gray whales breach in the Pacific sun and the next you are digging a well after the grid has gone down, canning vegetables and milking your goat. Imaginatively conceived and expertly executed, Hallowed Ground is ready to shine.
