Album is coming on 9/23... can't find anything yet on Amazon, though.Death Cab, MMJ, Fiery Furnaces on Choke OSTWith a Buzzcocks rarity, a new one from Blitzen Trapper, and, yes, Radiohead
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/n ... -choke-ostAs we found out a few days ago, author Chuck Palahniuk might just be even crazier than we imagined. But though his statements regarding Radiohead's involvement in the soundtrack to the film adaptation of his 2001 novel
Choke proved greatly exaggerated, the film's music is certainly nothing to cough at.
Due out on ATO September 23 in advance of the film's September 26 release, the
Choke soundtrack does indeed feature Radiohead's "Reckoner" as the credits roll. But it also features previously released favorites from Death Cab for Cutie, Fiery Furnaces, My Morning Jacket, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Twilight Singers, and Ben Kweller, as well as a few welcome surprises.
There's a rare version of the Buzzcocks classic "Orgasm Addict" sung by original member and eventual Magazine mogul Howard Devoto. There's a previously unreleased tune from Blitzen Trapper titled "Wicked", the Natural History's original version of "Don't You Ever" (covered by Spoon as "Don't You Evah"), a hard one to find from the Shout Out Louds, a new one from Alap Momin of Dalek, and a cover of the Doors' "Crystal Ship" by Nicole Atkins and the Sea.
Not included on the soundtrack, but featured in the film, is the score by Nathan Larson of Shudder to Think.
