Bannings: If you're not nice

French only pressing of the 2007 solo album from the Tears For Fears bassist/vocalist adds the bonus track 'Seven Of Sundays' (French Duet Version/Single Edit). Although bandmate Roland Orzabal may have been TFF's main songwriter, Smith's lead vocals on tracks like 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World', 'Mad World', 'Advice For The Young At Heart', 'Pale Shelter' and 'Change' helped solidify their success. Musically, Halfway Pleased continues in the tradition of Curt's Mayfield project and TFF's 2004 'reunion' album, Everybody Loves A Happy Ending, which was their most accomplished album to date. Curt Smith remains an enormous talent more than 25 years after he entered the music business. XIII Bis.

1. Perfect Day
2. Seven of Sundays
3. Halfway Pleased
4. Greatest Divide
5. Coming Out
6. Aeroplane
7. Two
8. Addict
9. Cover Us
10. Who You Are
11. Where Do I Go?
12. Snow Hill [Live]
13. Seven of Sundays - Duet with So
14. On Ira Tous au Paradis

I may just get this. It just so happens that I was listening to Everybody Loves A Happy Ending today. What a great and underrated album!

You are not mistaken :) This is the second proper Curt Smith solo release, and there are two Mayfield releases as well.

Only in the sense that once they broke away from the main guy, they went into instant obscurity, never to be heard from again.

Anyone heard anything about a U.S. release? This is just the type of CD I typically spring for the import only to learn one week after it arrives that it is getting a U.S. release at half the price I paid...

My mistake...the second Mayfield release was actually a Curt Smith EP called "Aeroplane". I guess I consider it a Mayfield release because it has the same musicians, its on the same label, and has two remixes from the Mayfield release: "Snow Hill" and "Reach Out". Also includes a new recording of "Pale Shelter" and an acoustic version of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", as well as two new songs "Aeroplane" and "Where Do I Go".

Well, in this case it's not one week later, it's one year later ... :) A domestic pressing of the album will be released on May 20, 2008. It sports a new cover and contains two extra acoustic tracks not on the original French pressing, but is missing the French language track at the end of the album:

1. Perfect Day
2. Seven of Sundays
3. Halfway Pleased
4. Greatest Divide
5. Coming Out
6. Aeroplane
7. Two
8. Addict
9. Cover Us
10. Who You Are
11. Where Do I Go?
12. Snow Hill (Live)
13. Seven of Sundays (Acoustic)
14. Coming Out (Acoustic)
15. Seven of Sundays (Duet with So)
