"Architecture & Morality", originally released in 1981, is considered by many to be the pinnacle of Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark's career. It spawned three Top 5 UK singles and the album itself peaked at No.3. In 2007 Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys reunited with Malcolm Holmes and Martin Cooper as OMD for an extensive tour of Europe. For the early part of this tour, including this concert recorded at London's Hammersmith Apollo in May, the concert was split into two halves. The first part of the evening was a complete performance of the "Architecture & Morality" album, while the second half was a greatest hits set covering the rest of the band's career.

Sounds like a must own. Is there a companion DVD? I never got to see OMD live during their heyday.

Agreed! :D

I was able to see them open for Depeche Mode in the mid-eighties, from about the 5th row (I think it was at MSG)! They started by saying "Hi, we are OMD and this is "Tesla Girls". Great memories!

A companion DVD is being released domestically on Tuesday, June 3rd:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0017VG65E/?tag=imwan-20

See tracklisting details for the DVD in the first post. Also make note of the updated links for the CD version of this release ... the American pressing is missing 4 tracks, the UK import (which is only available directly from Amazon UK) has the full 17. Customers are reporting that if you buy the domestic pressing and then e-mail the Eagle label, they'll send you a download link for MP3 versions of the 4 missing tracks.

In fact, the US CD has a sticker on the shrinkwrap about 4 tracks being available only online, even though they're listed in the running order on the back cover. I'll seek out the import.
