What’s New With Martha Davis and The Motels:

Over the past three years Martha Davis has been hard at work making music with the newly perfected line-up of her band. The result is 3 new records to be released simultaneously ...

1.The Motels - “This” An upbeat records that combines the sounds of the original motels with the modern sounds of indie rock
2.Martha Davis - “Beautiful Life” A darker, more introspective record...lyrically, a concept piece that should be listened to from top to bottom.
3.The Motels - “Clean, Modern and reasonable” New Acoustic versions of older motels hits

***Watch The Motels On TV Land’s “High School Reunion” this Wed. April 9th at 10:00pm!!!***

I'd love to see the Martha Davis solo album, "... So the Story Goes", available again. It's been a while.

These are now available on the Martha Davis Web site. $10 apiece or $25 for all three.

My three-pack arrived today and after a couple of listens, there's a LOT to like on "This." I assumed "Clean Modern Reasonable" was live acoustic, which is why I never imported it, but it is studio. Very interesting arrangements, some almost ethereal. Again, much to like. "Beautiful Life" (which came autographed by Martha) is subtitled "A Slight Miscalculation," which doesn't begin to describe it. Apart from the title track and a couple of middling others, "disaster" would be more appropriate. Hope it will grow on me, but it's pretty dark for my taste. But two good CDs out three for $25? A steal. You'd pay almost that to import CMR.
