Interesting why? Mitchell produced Vonda's last two CDs "BY 7:30" and "CHINATOWN", plus they are also married!

I didn't know that! I guess I still associate Shepard with the mainstream-y stuff she was doing during the Ally McBeal era and had strange visions of pairing that with Los Lobos or American Music Club type of productions...

Actually, i think the year after Vonda released the first Ally McBeal soundtrack (1998), she released "BY 7:30" (1999). I can't recall if she was still doing Ally McBeal music when "CHINATOWN" came out in 2002.

I only know of her because of the Ally McBeal soundtrack. How does what I'm to infer is her "regular" sound differ from Ally McBeal?

She was a little more "independent-sounding" before Ally McBeal. Another instance of soundtrack work pigeon-holing an artist and hurting her career.
