http://www.lindseybuckingham.com/ If you go to his web site (link above) you can stream song from the forthcoming Lindsey Buckingham disc. I really like what I've heard so far; it’s very low-keyed and very creative.

One can check Lindsey Buckingham's site for links to tracks from Under The Skin, as well as tour info - dates have been announced... Out of His SkinFleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham, whose acoustic-driven Under the Skin album is due Oct. 3, has cut eight "more rocking" songs that are earmarked for an as-yet-untitled solo disc that will drop next year. The guitarist explains that he rebuffed requests from his record label to include some of those tunes on Under This Skin. "I feel Skin has much more integrity by keeping it held back in the way it is," he says. from Billboard.com-- Buckingham Readies One Album, Finishing AnotherSeptember 07, 2006, 6:05 PM ET Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham will release his first solo album in 14 years next month. Due Oct. 3 via Reprise, "Under the Skin" includes two tracks featuring the Fleetwood Mac rhythm section of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. The other eight tracks find Buckingham generating all the rhythm simply via his own percussive guitar playing. "It's something I've been interested in for a long time: trying to distill down the essence of that certain thing I do," the artist tells Billboard.com. "I want to still have it sound like a record, but very much in the spirit of someone sitting and playing guitar." Buckingham wrote most of the material for "In This Skin" while on the road with Fleetwood Mac in support of its 2003 comeback album, "Say You Will," and looked to his own life for lyrical inspiration. "It gets into a more bare-bones look at what's going on with me after all this time," says Buckingham, who at 57 now has three young children. "I've finally gotten married and am slowly shedding the dysfunctional thing everyone in the band seemed to have emotionally." The guitarist is also well into work on another new record, which will focus more on electric guitar-driven rock. Label execs initially asked Buckingham to include some of this material on "Under the Skin," but "I feel it has much more integrity by keeping it held back in the way it is. It seemed to be more truthful in terms of what the songs were saying and what I was trying to look at." Eight songs are complete for the second album, due sometime next year, although Buckingham says he may re-record some of them with a yet-to-be-chosen producer once he finishes a fall tour in support of "Under This Skin." The outing, which is only his second solo trek ever, kicks off Oct. 6 in Atlanta. Buckingham will be backed on the road by Fleetwood Mac percussionist Taku Hirano and guitarist Neal Haywood, plus guitarist/keyboardist Brett Tuggle. The set list is still coming together, but Buckingham speculates the show will be broken into three sections: "one with me out there by myself, another with the band but you hold a line in terms of the kind of material and the last section, where you'd rock it." As for the status of Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham says he and the other band members are all up for future touring but unsure if any recording is in the cards. "It's important that we end up in a place where we are good, as a group of people," he observes, "A place where all the politics are left behind for what's really real. Despite what has gone on, this is a group of people I'll know as well as anyone I'll ever know except my family. I've been through more with them than I've ever been through with my own family (laughs). I'd love to see that continue. It's a matter of everybody somehow moving toward the center a little bit, and that means me too."

It's more eccentric than that one, and a lot quieter too. I’d say it’s more like TUSK’s "Save Me a Place", but on hallucinogens and crossed with some of the current ‘freak folk’ that the kids are listening too. Thank God this guy just can’t repeat himself if he tried.
Try the link to his web site -- it allows you to stream 5 songs in their entirety. That way you can decide for yourself.

The Lindsey show was great last night in Atlanta. Amazingly well paced for the first show of the tour. No huge surprises, except for "Holiday Road" as the opening song of the encore, but it was a very nice survey of his past and present work. It appears to me that the singing voice on Under The Skin was primarily a stylistic choice. He was able to let the more typical Lindsey voice loose on the older material. Highly recommended!

Renny,
About 1/3 solo acoustic, 2/3 with the three man band (Brett Tuggle on keyboards/bass, Neale Heywood on guitar and Taku Hirano on percussion). The same line-up as the Soundstage DVD. Several guitar changes throughout. Played for around an hour and 45 minutes.

Uh -oh, this worries me.
I recently ordered this title on DVD-A.
Does anyone know if the DVD-A sounds any better?
Maybe I''ll have to return it unopened.

blair,
i can only tell you this, "say you will" might just be the single worst sounding CD in my collection. with any volume at all it is almost unlistenable. the highs are horribly shrill, ear piercing for that matter. Now i do have klipsch speakers, and the horns may might make it worse, but when i burn songs from it and play them in the car they are still terribly shrill.
i've no clue about the DVD-A though, although i don't imagine thay would master it any differently.

Makes sense unfortunately....crap in , crap out.
Same thing, apparently, with the Santana DVD-A's of Supernatural and Shaman. They still sound bad.

Lindsey Buckingham: After Fleetwood Mac

Lindsey Buckingham
Set List:
• "Not Too Late"
• "Big Love"
• "Never Going Back Again"
• "Down on Rodeo"
World Cafe, October 26, 2006 ·
Lindsey Buckingham is best known for his work as a guitarist and songwriter with Fleetwood Mac, but his solo output has also earned him a place in the rock canon. His work has influenced a generation of would-be folk-rockers and endeared him to millions of fans.
Buckingham got his start playing with Stevie Nicks in the folksy and matter-of-factly named duo Buckingham Nicks, releasing one self-titled album in 1973. That project was enough for them to be invited by Mick Fleetwood to join his band -- and the rest, it would seem, is history. In 1981, Buckingham released his first solo album, Law and Order. Mixing his innovative guitar work with the pop smarts and studio know-how that helped propel Fleetwood Mac to the top the charts, the album was well-received by fans and critics, charting a Top 10 single with "Trouble." Go Insane was similarly well-received in 1984, as was 1992's Out of the Cradle, which had the distinction of being his first solo record since leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1987.
Under the Skin, Buckingham's first solo release in 14 years, was mostly written while on tour with a reunited Fleetwood Mac in 2003. Despite the simple, mostly acoustic arrangements, the songs possess a depth that reveals itself after several listens. In addition to his fine original compositions, the record also features covers of The Rolling Stones' "I Am Waiting" and Donovan's "To Try for the Sun."

If you're not familiar with NPR or World Cafe, it's never too late.
Indigo Girls are coming up on Nov. 3, and many performances are archived so one can go back and check it out.
Just missed one yesterday with Sean Lennon... but it should be available for listening soon...

Well, it would count as 99c whether the one unit is just the non-free song or the entire album.

This was actually one of my favorite albums of the year, because I didn't buy it until this past summer. I agree: fantastic album!
