>> Dance floor lovers rejoice! The unabashedly infectious rock/ hip-hop/dance duo Junior Senior is "back on track for the big comeback," with the long-awaited North American release of Hey Hey My My Yo Yo. The instantly catchy album promises to be just the ticket for those way too hot and frenzied summertime parties.
The dynamic Danish duo return in top, feel-good form, mashing-up their Mamas & the Papas-meets-Sugarhill Gang sound with the manic, party energy that they're known for. The sweet sounding `60s pop, `70s funk and `80s hip-hop inspired album features notable guest artists including Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson of the B-52's, Le Tigre, `60s Motown girl group the Velvelettes plus the legendary Spooner Oldham.
Junior Senior first brought their explosive energy to the world with their debut D-D-Don't Don't Stop the Beat. Fueled by the global smash "Move Your Feet," the band quickly found both commercial success and critical acclaim, from dance clubs and roller rinks to sports stadiums. With Hey Hey My My Yo Yo Junior Senior returns with an even more hook-filled yet sophisticated and consistent album. <<

I saw this at Jamal's store the other day, but had never heard of them. Now I'm intrigued--usually enjoy bouncy dance-pop, especially of the Euro variety.
I think the copies I saw had a bonus disc too--time to head over there today!

Amazon does list this as a two-CD set, but the number of tracks make it seem like just one disc ... unless the tracks are all extended dance versions (very possible on a Junior Senior album), or Amazon's tracklisting is incomplete and the bonus disc simply isn't mentioned. Jimbo, if you do pick this up please tell us what the deal is with the second disc?

I only know their breakthrough single "Move Your Feet", but that alone is one of the best pop singles of the noughties. Can they really top "Move Your Feet"?

I bought a copy at 'Rama. The bonus disc is a 7-song EP, all new material, called "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" (a title which will sound familiar to Soft Cell fans). I don't know if every copy has the bonus CD, but my copy is a double digipak. I kinda like it on first listen.
And is it just me, or is the guy in the blue sweater a dead ringer for a young Kiefer Sutherland?

I enjoyed their first album. As has been mentioned, it was good fun dance/pop. They may have at least another good one in them, so I'll probably check this out.
