>> This record starts with "Don't Make Me A Target", a song that builds on Spoon's familiar minimal rhythmic piano/guitar vamp popularized on earlier hits like "Small Stakes" or "The Way We Get By". The album quickly moves into uncharted territory with the atmospheric "The Ghost Of You Lingers" and moves through several different stylistic changes from the explosive "You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb" to the wall-of-sound horns of radio single "The Underdog". Their most heartfelt batch of songs since 2001's "Girls Can Tell". <<

Amazon advertises this as coming with a "limited edition bonus disc" just like Target is doing, but doesn't offer any details of what's on the second disc, so I don't know if it's the same contents or something unique to Amazon:

spoon website (which was streaming the 10 song album last week) mentions the 5 song bonus disc, I think it's available everywhere for a limited time, and Amazon & Target are just mentioning it.

I picked up the new Spoon CD at J&R yesterday, on slae for $9.99. It includes the bonus disc, so it's not exclusive to any one store. Sticker says it is a limited edition though.

The bonus disc itself does not mention any track titles. In fact, it's made to look like a generic CD-r, with hand-written text on the face.

Some catchy tracks on the album. I quite like "The Underdog" especially.

Felix Unger: "It'll be dark...I better bring my big spoon..."
