The few covers include an Ellie Greenwich/Jeff Barry chestnut, "Heaven Only Knows." Smartly paced, a few ballads offer some breathing room before the rhythm pumps up again.

Excellent album! The girl group sound is still there, Reigning Sound are an excellent choice as backing band (Greg Cartwright is the chief songwriter) and Weiss' voice has a nice alt-country lilt which I think adds to the songs (still mining the heartbroken Shangri-Las lyrical territory).

I was surprised to see Amazon having the release set for March 27. My copy arrived from deep discount back on March 13.

The album gets four stars in the May issue of Mojo. A Shangri-Las reunion is not possible, as the Ganser siblings, Margie and Mary Ann have both passed away.
