Description
Don Felder, the iconic guitarist best known for his time with the Eagles, is set to release his highly anticipated fourth solo album, The Vault (Fifty Years of Music), following the success of American Rock 'n' Roll in 2019. This new album marks a unique milestone in Felder’s storied career, offering a stunning collection of newly recorded versions of songs originally demoed over a span of five decades.

From the album opener, “Move On,” a song from 1974, to “I Like The Things You Do,” written as recently as 2023, The Vault offers a comprehensive look at Felder’s rich musical history. The album’s title reflects this expansive journey through time, blending timeless rock anthems with heartfelt ballads in a way that only Felder can.

What sets The Vault apart is the incredible roster of musical giants that have come together to lend their talents to the project. Felder is joined by true rock royalties including David Paich, Steve Lukather, Joseph "Joe" Williams, and Greg Phillinganes of Toto, renowned drummers such as Greg Bissonette, Brian Tichy, Todd Sucherman, plus Timothy Drury, Nathan East, Nina Winter and Lenny Castro, among others. Their contributions bring a fresh, dynamic energy to the music, enhancing Felder’s signature sound and bringing new life to these songs.

In addition to the previously unreleased material, The Vault also includes a newly re-recorded version of “Heavy Metal,” Felder’s classic hit from his 1983 debut album Airborne and the soundtrack of the 1981 animated film of the same name.

for all their faults, don henley and glenn frey did not let felder sing many leads in the eagles........there was a reason!

this CD was removed from my cart by amazon and labeled as currently unavailable..........

went to the page on amazon and there is no release date anymore and it also says currently unavailable.

odd....

kind of like what happened with the last timothy b. schmit CD......

I think it's just Amazon being post-COVID Amazon (It ain't what it used to be!), it will likely come back. The label releasing it, Frontier Records, still shows it coming May 23 on their website, .

What happened is that the label cancelled the release, resolicited it, and now Amazon has the CD at a different link. It will have to be pre-ordered again (the new links for all three Amazon sites are now in the first post.) Previous pre-orders will be cancelled. Blame the label.
