If you're not nice
I like them, but I also liked the Cummings-less (sounds dirty) version of The Guess Who from the late 1970s. Their problem isn't the music, it's that the drummer owns the brand and he insists on calling these guys "The Guess Who". But if they didn't, they wouldn't get decent venues or sell many tickets, or get a recording contract even on a nice little heritage label like Deko. It's just the way things are out there.
What he really should do is sell the name back to Burton, make his money that way, and enjoy a happy retirement.

What kind of contract would obligate Randy and Burton to play with Rudy? What if they are out on individual solo tours? Do they have to work it so he can commute between shows? They must have terrible lawyers.

It's standard industry boilerplate - if you sign a record deal or tour across state lines, at some point, Rudy Sarzo must be part of your band.
I'm not saying I like it. It's just the law.

I never said this sounded like the "real" Guess Who. I think this album would have been received better by an audience that doesn't have expectations on what they expect The Guess Who to sound like.

I was just trying to be funny by writing alternate lyrics to “These Eyes”.

Looks like inventory is being cleared out (along with all the videos being deactivated) in light of the name ownership. Pop lovers might want to take a chance on this for $5. It really is a treat.
