Description
Neil Young with Crazy Horse will release World Record on November 18, 2022. It's their second album of new studio recordings within the past 12 months. World Record is produced by Rick Rubin and Neil Young, and Neil is accompanied by his longtime band, Crazy Horse (Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina, Nils Lofgren). The album features ten new Neil Young compositions, nine written during the last year about the events and condition of our world, plus a short reprise of one song. It was mixed to analog tape at Rubin's Shangri-La Studios using a selection of vintage instruments and equipment.

I’m not a Neil Young completist, and I don’t like the song, but I hear that “Chevrolet” is a 14 minute epic, so that may suck me in.

your idea of bad and mine may be different, but, off the top of my head, ican't think of one since 2000 that i like other than 'ordinary people'. and even that is a wee bit 'too epic'.

nothing like 'down by the river' 'cowgirl' and my all-time favorite 'change your mind'.

I played the album. I will only say I'm done with songs about saving the planet. Musically it not bad but for gods sake Neil how much songs about planet earth do we need mate?

Does anybody else listen to these songs and get the feeling they're listening to a parody of Neil Young and Crazy Horse? Sorry, I love the guy, but I'm just so done. I can't imagine any reason to listen to this new stuff when I can listen to Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere or Rust Never Sleeps or even Ragged Glory. Those albums still sound fresh and vital. I don't hear any spark in this new material. Sorry for the threadcrap, but I guess I just don't get it. If you're enjoying the new stuff, good for you. I kinda wish I could come along for the ride, but I'm gonna listen to the old stuff again instead.

I listen to these albums and I hear a lot of whining about saving the earth. I might have to pass on Neil's next album. I've gotten pretty bored with him. Good music doesn't have to be about important topics, perceived important topics or any topic at all.

other than some of the achieves releases, but even those got to be quite redundant after the 5th version of 'sugar mountain'.
