Recorded, engineered and mixed at Barnyard Studios by Tony Newton and produced by Steve Harris, The Burning is crammed with powerful hard rock melodies.

Richard Taylor says, “We’ve been working on ‘The Burning’ for the past couple of years and everyone is really pleased with the results. We started playing some of the songs live on recent tours and got a fantastic reaction from our fans so we are really excited to be sharing this album with the world. We’re also looking forward to heading out on the road again in the UK and US and seeing everyone at the shows.”

OK, for a second there I thought it was the off-shoot band from Mott The Hoople doing this.

That why I read this thread, too. Somehow, I doubt if Iron Maiden has heard of the original British Lions.

The album will be called The Burning and has been scheduled for release on January 17, 2020. Pre-order details have been added to the first post, and here's a preview of the track "Lightning":

As I haven’t heard anything indicating that there’s been any trouble about the similarity in the name, I’m not sure why it matters.

But even if it did, as Steve Harris is British (he’s the only member of Iron Maiden involved with British Lion) and started out in 70s and has always shown his love for British bands of the era, what makes you think he hasn’t heard of them? I mean, what’s the point of making the comment, other than to cast some shade?
