Description
Kaiser Chiefs release new album Duck on July 26th through Polydor. Duck is the sound of one of the most successful British guitar bands of the millennium reclaiming the creative swagger that underpins their strongest work.

Duck was recorded and mixed with producer Ben H. Allen, who previously collaborated with the band on 2014’s number one album Education, Education, Education & War. Other production collaborators include and Iain Archer (Liam Gallagher, Snow Patrol) with additional mixing by Mike “Spike” Stent (U2, Ed Sheeran, Arcade Fire) who worked with Kaiser Chiefs on defining single Everyday I Love You Less and Less.

It’s a record that harks back to the everyday explorations of their breakthrough early albums. “We wanted to do something that had a Kaiser Chiefs DNA but still try and do something different” says bassist Simon Rix. “It has the right spirit."

Fifteen years into their career, the band are hitting new artistic peaks.

Details are light, but the album is recorded and mixed, and was handed in to Polydor this week. The name has been announced as "Duck," without clarification as to whether it refers to the bird or the evasive action. Still waiting on a release date.

This image has been posted to their FB and Instagram pages. Not sure if it's cover art, or just promo art.

Cover art and tracklisting updated.

They're saying it's more Motown/Stax influenced, which comes as a huge relief after the synthpop mess that was Stay Together.

The first single, however, still sounds pretty synth-y. I'll keep an open mind.

I really like this new song; I'm definitely "in" for the album.

Release day tomorrow! Here's another song that better fits the "soulful" descriptor I've heard for this album.

A great deal of single-entendre visuals in this video. It's fun.

I've seen them live a couple times. Ricky Wilson ALWAYS uses the definite article. I like to think omitting it was Nick Hodgson's thing, although I have no evidence of that.
