ELP - my my my

they are right up there with the doors and yes and the who for recycling old material and releasing live archival stuff.

i think their original catalog albums have been on CD on about 3 or 4 different labels now, maybe more.

These are the live instrumental versions that he plays with his current band, which is fantastic.

This is NOT ELP.

It's Carl Palmer's band and he's been doing this for many years now.

I've seen them twice as openers, but it's not my thing.

It is ELP music (and some other material), still as a trio but with guitars replacing keyboards,

So this band has no keyboards and no vocals and yet it's supposed to be ELP's "Legacy?"

I've seen them and in a million years I could not have imagined they could pull this off but not only did they I found it was quite inventive and enjoyable.

The fresh take of arrangement(s) AND the exceptional skill of the musicians made the concert very satisfying.

Personally, I would have never have gone to a concert where a keyboardist and/or signer/bass player tried to replicate Keith and Greg.
It can't happen and if it was attempted I would not sit for it.

They are both one of a kind and the best prog have ever offered, period.

I've seen them twice, once whereby Todd Rundgren came out to sing "Lucky Man".

I'm seeing them again on June 29.

So, I can enjoy seeing the legendary Carl Palmer perform ELP music with world-class guitarists (being that the E and the L are dead and gone), or I can sit home and brood.

Hmmm....pretty limited options for you. I've never seen Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy, yet seldom sit home and brood.

I have to admit, when I think of ELP, the first thing I think of is keyboards. That's why it's hard for me to imagine this setup. But if someone saw this and enjoyed it, more power to them.

I didn't like it all, and found the guitar playing obnoxious noodling.

I've seen them twice and I'm an ELP fanatic, so I'm allowed an opinion.

I do love that Carl keeps the music alive and I met him after one of the shows in 2013 and he told me there was no point in playing ELP material the same way and this kept it fresh for him and the audience, so more power to him I say.

Just not my thing at all and I tried.

The third option is being a clueless shit-stirrer, apparently.

Jason Michael may not realize how much you DO get out DanO. You give JohnG a run for his money in concerts attended.

A "Crosby, Stills And Palmer" tour would change Renny's mind.

i don't know about that one....not a big ELP fan to begin with. i would like to hear stills and crosby cover some of greg lake's acoustic tunes though, could be very nice. crosby singing 'from the beginning".........think about it!

As much as I like From The Beginning, imo the lyrics are a bit too nonsensical for Croz.
