Description
'You're Driving Me Crazy' is a new studio collaboration between Van Morrison and legendary Hammond organist Joey DeFrancesco. It features interpretations of jazz and blues standards as well as selections from Van Morrison's songbook and is the follow-up to 2017's 'Versatile', Van's chart-topping jazz album.

this is the 3rd or 4th album in the last couple of years isn't it?

or am i way off base here?

I love Hammond organist Joey DeFrancesco. Have many of his albums and even a photo together taken by his wife when he played at the Jazz Cellar in Ybor City. Really cool guy, I'm in for this.

You do remember when musicians used to put out 2, sometimes 3 albums a year, don't you?

i do, i really do. and van morrison was one of those guys who continued to do about a one a year for along stretch there. but lately, he really has gone goofy with new releases, only months apart.

i have his catalog, except for the chietans album and the one with gail lewis (both of which i could not listen to for more than one minute, although i can only listen to anything with the chieftans for about 10 seconds. guess you have to be from the UK to get it) i even have the 2 from last year.

my problem with van is that he just seems to be recycling the same album over and over again since "days like this".....what i mean is, same tunings, same riffs (basically) and different words.

and i'll probably buy this one too.

If Van truly does need money, or simply likes to release a lot of stuff at this point in his career, I have a suggestion for him. Release all the expanded album editions he canceled many years ago, some of which were already scheduled for release.

Many of his catalog titles remain out of print to this day and the hardcore fans (like me) would buy the expanded and remastered editions in a heartbeat!

Bill L. told us that Van Morrison was very difficult to work with. He helped put together a proposed track list for The Philosopher's Stone, and Van rejected it outright.

Not sure who manages Van. I think he may manage himself. In any case, someone needs to consider "over-exposure." In my opinion, Van has the type of vocal styling that is most welcome to the listener after an absence of a year or two. When I listened to the sample above, the word "obnoxious" came to mind, and I consider myself a fan. The problem is over-exposure.
