(hennemusic) Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner has revealed a status update on the band's follow-up to 2014's "Redeemer Of Souls," during an interview with Sweetwater Sound's Mitch Gallagher.
"We've just been in the studio for a couple of months putting songs together," Faulkner says . "We haven't started the recording process yet, but we're recording demos; we're recording songs that work without the production to save them, if you know what I mean. But the core value… We're putting down some grassroots ideas and fleshing them out for the next Priest record.
"So we're gonna go into the studio to start recording in January. So it should be out sometime next year. But we're not touring next year. So we're gonna be touring, hopefully, in 2018."

Their work together includes British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith.
Allom's most recent project with Judas Priest was the 2009 concert recording A Touch of Evil. Sneap has worked as a mixer and engineer for Megadeth, Slayer and Saxon, among others.

I've seen them 3 times, and I absolutely hate the Casino Rama venue - 90 minute max sets, no opening acts, and a place that's 2 hours away and involves me staying overnight at my mom's place after the show. So I'll give them a pass this time. I will probably check out the new album when it releases, though.

The image that the band shared on Facebook to announce the tour lists Saxon and Black Star Riders as the opening acts.
So this tour is going to London, Oshawa, and Ottawa with Saxon and BSR, and Priest is doing the Casino I mentioned by themselves, but there's no Toronto date for this tour specifically.
ah well, maybe they'll come back around in the summer. and heck, if they headlined Heavy Mtl, that would work, too.

Can't wait to see them this Saturday at the Nassau Coliseum. I'm taking my 18 year old son, who has seen some greats with me recently. He's a classic rock fan and I've taken him to see Billy Joel, McCartney, and Iron Maiden...and now Judas Priest. We're also seeing the Electric Light Orchestra at MSG this August as well.
