Elbow's drummer to quit after 25 years
Elbow have announced that their drummer, Richard Jupp, will be leaving after 25 years with the band. Following up the announcement that their seventh album will be released in 2017, Jupp will not be featuring on the record.
Leaving the band to pursue other projects, Jupp is said to be leaving to continue his work with his drum school as well as various charities.
In a statement posted on the band's website, they also wrote that they are "currently writing tracks" for the follow-up to 2014's 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything.'

New Elbow album set to be released in Spring 2017
Guy Garvey has revealed that the seventh studio album from Elbow is set to be released in Spring of 2017.
Garvey has currently been promoting his recent solo project, sharing single ‘Open The Door’ in May. He has previously called his solo backing band his 'favourite musicians outside of Elbow'.
Speaking to Radio X, Garvey stated that Elbow are currently half-way through the new album. "We’re hoping to release next year," he said. "And it’s sounding great. [We're] hoping to have it out maybe February/March next year."
This new album will be the band's first without drummer Richard Jupp, who announced his departure back in March after 25 years. Jupp is said to have leaft to continue his work with his drum school as well as various charities.
When asked to compare the differences between working on his solo record and an Elbow album, Garvey said: “As lovely as it is being the boss, you have no one to bounce ideas off that has a vested interest in your idea being the right one.
"When i’m sat in a room with Elbow, everything’s talked about. We could co-produce a cup of tea.” Elbow's last album was 2014's 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything'.
