Big list this week, some may not make it home till next week(According to Diamond):

Amazing Spider-Girl #4 - Enjoying the old-school feel of this book.

Batman Confidential #2 - Portacio on pencils, not everyone's favorite but I'm enjoying him getting work on this and Wetworks.

Blade #5 - Guggenheim & Chaykin, hopefully the CW crossover won't be too confusing.

Green Lantern Corps #8 - The GL book that ships on time, and I'm actually enjoying it.

JSA Classified #21 - Simonson goodness with John Workman on letters, not only writing but pencilling this and the next issue as well, continued from Hawkgirl last week. Damn this book looked good, Simonson needs to take over the pencilling chores on Hawkgirl(or some other monthly). :yay:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic #12/Legacy #7 - I love both of these books.

Tales of the Unexpected #4 - Halfway through, enjoying the Spectre and the backup story.

Batman by Ostrander/Mandrake, after which i'll drop the book. not very interested in Morrison's run.
JSA classified for Hawkman & Walt Simonson.

I'll go to the shop only next week because it will be the week of the first Claremont issue of Exiles. Can't wait for this book.

Exiles question: will the new Claremont issues mark the beginning of a new storyline? I've read a couple of collected editions from the library, and I'm interested in picking this up if I don't have to know too much to follow it. Thanks

Yes, and new member Psylocke.
He begins with issue 90 next week, but here are some preview pages for issue 91 and the cover of 93:

Thanks, Stephane, that looks great. This seems like a really fun book, from what I've read so far. I'm anxious for more Chris Claremont too.

Average size week for me:

52 - really bored with the space team, now I'm pissed too. Lousy death.
BATMAN - this is how to do fill-ins.
BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL - I like Bruce vs. Lex.
J.S.A. - I asolutely love this book.
JSA CLASSIFIED - Simonson pencils. Hope I didn't miss much in HAWKGRIL.
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN - old school feel despite new status.
WONDER-MAN - Simon & Beast by PAD ? should have some laffs.

52 - Agreed with Ron F.
Batman - err, agreed with Ron F!
JSA - what the hell, agreed, Ron! :)
Amazing Spider-Girl - Not my favorite issue of this title so far, but still the best Marvel in years.
Superman/Batman vs. Aliens/Predator - How can anyone pass this up? Besides the incredible art, it's SUPERMAN, BATMAN, ALIENS and PREDATOR! :D

Oh yeah, throw in a Terminator, and it'd be impossible not to sell 1,000,000 copies. :)

JSA 2: more classic superheroics from Geoff Johns...lots of cool character bits and Starman gives us a revelation on the last page that is worth the cover price on its own...9/10

Batman Confidential 2: Diggle gives us more action as Batman takes on the battle droid/suit with some cool gear/tech and the plot thickens as all is not what it seems..fun fast paced stuff..i like Portacio's art but its not a perfect fit ot the story (Jock would have been excellent)...Whilce isnt that great on the quiet/detective moments..either way still great..8/10

Thunderbolts 110: Ellis starts off strong as we get some insights into the twisted villains and he even makes us feel for the D-list hero they are tracking down...i liked the moments with the media/commercials as well..and Deodato is perfect for this book..fun dark stuff..im hooked...9/10

Punisher 43: Ennis firing on all cylinders as usual..a cool set up as we meet some new all female villains..and a nice twisted ending that has me eager for the next issue to find out more...9/10

I've read it and I don't know what he's talking about (other than there was a miniseries by that name). Can you explain? Feel free to use Spoiler text if appropriate.

I think the revelation is simply that he is FROM the time period of that miniseries, Jay. I doubt there will be anything you have to know from the previous story to enjoy this one.

Jeff, I passed on S/B vs. A/P purely for budgetary reasons.

Jay, the character isn't really from that mini-series, that was a stop on the way. He's actually from the pre-COIE 30th Century. Don't worry, I'm sure Geoff will catch everybody up.

Thanks, guys. It doesn't help that most of what Starman says is gibberish (intentional crazy talk).

I'll be picking up these tomorrow...

STAR WARS LEGACY #7
BATMAN #662 -- I haven't really enjoyed the Ostrander/Mandrake stuff as much as I thought I would. :-(
JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #2
AGENTS OF ATLAS #6 (OF 6) -- Highly recommend the trade! Great old school feel with modern twists.
AMAZING SPIDER-GIRL #4
RUNAWAYS #23

Jay - it seems like Starman was from the pre-Crisis Legion but on his way back in time he ended up in the Kingdom Come Universe (where many heroes died in a big explosion). Some of the villains seen in JSA so far are also from Kingdom Come too...which means the Kingdom Universe is crossing over into the DCU or the DCU is becoming the Kingdom U...either way..cool stuff.

I just assumed he was from the KC time. I guess I should read it again.

Hunh. Now that's a whole different kind of interesting. Thanks. But I have devalued my "thanks" by thanking these other guys for a less informative answer. I'm a thanks-whore, so I have very little to offer now.

Thanks again.

This follows with some of the other adult Legionnaires we've seen show up post-Crisis, like Saturn Girl (or Saturn Queen) in Kandor.

And 52 is leading towards a fractured timeline, so maybe (among other things) we'll finally learn how Hex got back from the post-apocalyptic age to the good old, Old West. :D

Somehow, though, I'm picking up the scent of cheese in the DCU explanations bin...
