I'd watched Farscape in its entirety close to 10 years ago, after the finale, but before The Peacekeeper Wars. Remarkably, the series finale went unspoiled until I watched it.

The series recently reappeared on Amazon Prime Instant Video, so I started watching it again with my wife. It was a bit of a bump to get over the alien-of-the-week nature of the early episodes, but next up is the "DNA Mad Scientist" episode, which for me is really the turning point where it goes from being simply weird and wonderful to being amazing and gut-wrenching. I'm looking forward to Tina-Joy's reaction to how profoundly that episode changes things, mostly for Aeryn, but also for Pilot, and how they both view Rygel.

Any other Farscape fans out there?

I love the show. I only watched it when it got cancelled (before The Peacekeeper Wars).Crichton and Scorpius were great characters.

It is fantastic and was one of those TV crimes that it got cancelled. (Thank god they didn't cancel Enterprise.)

I rewatched some of the first season when it was on Netflix, but did not finish it. I wish I had.

They had such a way of preaching without being preachy, being morally amoral and questioning everything. They also nearly completely removed the Earth from the center of the Universe. That Crichton became default leader was the one flaw, but, hey, he was good at it.

Fantastic series, almost up there with Doctor Who---in fact, back in the day, I was so impressed with how the Henson company went about the production, I thought they'd be great for producing Doctor Who. I recently bought the entire series on DVD for $39 on Amazon and my wife and I are enjoying it all over again. Just finished the first season last night. And yeah, Scorpius is definitely one of the great sci fi villains of all time.

Great characters, concept, acting, production, stories, you name it.

One of my gripes was the introduction of Grayza towards the end. For a show that was something of a Blake's 7 homage in the first place, she was a little too closely modeled after Servalan.

Not having seen Blake's 7 that much, I did not pick up on that.

I never did finish watching Farscape the first time around. They lost me during one of their gaps with no shows airing.

Then I'm glad I didn't spoil the ending, where Boba Fett and The Eighth Doctor totally make out.

It is a hell of a series. I can't see myself rewatching it anytime soon though. I have a remarkable amount of stuff on my plate for someone who is unemployed and not going to school.

As much as I loved the show, yeah, at the time, the weird gaps in the schedule kinda lost me somewhere during the 3rd or 4th season but I came back. Watching them together like this, much better. Never watched Blake 7 so I wasn't even aware of any similarities with that one character though.
