Sure, everyone loves Batman and Spider-Man, but who are your favorite less-popular characters? Some of mine; The Question I truly like every version, from the Ditko original to the Justice League Unlimited conspiracy theorist, and even Renee Montoya or the weird-ass Rick Vietch city shaman take. But my absolute favorite is the O'Neill/Cowan run from the late 80s. Speedball, the Masked Marvel What started as a semi-ironic proud claim of owning the entire run of Speedball, the Masked Marvel (all 10 issues) somehow turned into becoming an actual fan of the character. Unlike the Question, not every take works for me. Ditko's version is a lot of fun, and my favorite is the Nicieza/Bagley version from New Warriors, but that's pretty much it. Blue Beetle  Oh, look! Another Ditko character! I have no opinion on Dan Garrett, but Ted Kord and Jaime Reyes are both great, and I'm honestly not sure which one I like more at this point. More to come.

Continuing thematically, I also really like characters from defunct comic book lines. Alec Swan From the Malibu Ultraverse line, this was my introduction to James Robinson and Cully Hamner. Swan is a precursor to Cameron Chase and Jessica Jones, acting as a private investigator in a world of superpowered beings. Simon Archard and Emma Bishop While this is ostensibly a Sherlock Holmes analogue, setting it in a world of magic and giving Bishop powers were cool twists. Also, it's Waid, Guice, and Perkins doing great work. Shelby's making me go get food now, so I'll have more.

When I was a kid I thought the Tarantula had a great look. Now I realize he was a walking stereotype that had powers that looked cool......... but Spiderman should never have had a problem fighting him.

They were in the first Disney Avengers run, I believe. There was even an Ultimate universe version.

Spectre is such a wasted name. It is unfortunately attached to a character that is so powerful that his stories are limited and repetitive. It's time for DC to update the character.
DC's Raven has such a great visual.

I liked them too. Davis' first run was the best. Plus the 2 issue X-men crossover.
