(throwing out an early question)

Hey Dave-

So what's Glamourpuss about? Everything I've seen so far has been pinups with large balloons filled with commentary. Will it have a narrative structure, or are you trying for something different?

Greetings, Dave!

I'm assuming GLAMOURPUSS is starting with Alex Raymond, but how quickly do you plan to move forward into discussing others from the photorealism school? Will you be hopping around in your discussion, or presenting a linear timeline? I'm looking forward to your drawings of Neal Adams. :)

Whooo~! Dave Sim!

In preparation for Glamourpuss, is there any books or work I should go check out by the photorealism comics artists? I'm always looking for new stuff to read, and I've sadly neglected a lot of pre-60s comics...

How does it feel to be the greatest comic artist of your generation? (Well, I think so anyway....)

There's been some talk around these parts about a lack of Cerebus foreign-language editions. What's the hold-up?

Forget a limited edition hardcover collection of Cerebus.... let's do it leather-bound with gold lettering on the spine, complete with all the cover-art in colour and extras like the Swords of Cerebus covers, etc..... go Easton Press on our asses!

I'm thinking of taking down a few really early issues of Cerebus (8, 9, 11, 15 and 17) down to the Beguiling to trade in for phone books since mine copies are long gone back home in New Brunswick. How many Cerebus phone books should I hold them out for?

If any of you get the chance to chat with Dave (I can't :( ), please ask him to talk more about Bill Payne. I am fascinated with his work, and can find little information about him online other than Dave mentioning that he was his mentor.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to glamourpuss.

Hi Dave,

a couple of questions...

1) Why the title Glamourpuss? What's the story... (and I don't mean BradyBunch)...
2) Elsewhere I got to discussing public domain content and during the conversation someone mention that you said or suggested you were not opposed to someone out there doing a Cerebus comic, book or video of somekind... like TV or Movie... is this true? If so why such a relaxed attitude?

the bonus round...
3) Will you ever consider coming back to Cerebus and shoe-horning in a story or two somewhere within the 300 books?

a long time fan,

George Peter Gatsis

Hey, Dave! Thanks for dropping by!

I hope that it's not too cold in Kitchener. Winter's being pretty brutal in South Central Michigan right now (I'm not sure, but I think I'm think I'm North of you.).

Hi Dave,

I'll be out of the office for a good chunk of tomorrow and won't be able to do this live, so I'll drop a question or two and read later.

1) Can you tell us the status of a "miscellaneous Cerebus stuff" collection? You've mention the possibility in the past -- as well as the hurdles -- and it's sure something I'd like to see. Surely there must be a Melmoth-sized phonebook's worth of material out there.

2) A lot of artists cringe at statements like, "His old stuff was better." That's a comment that has dogged you from time to time, too. Do you resent such statements? Are you just happy people are reading? What's your take on that mindset?

3) Ale, lager, stout, porter or other?

Very cool. (Of course, he's doing it WHILE I am at work).

Loved Cerebus. Hope glammourpuss is as great.

Welcome to IMWAN, Dave.

I want to thank you for some great comics over the years. Discovering the Cerebus trades in the 90s was a great experience for me. I spent a summer with that little aardvark and have read and reread the series as time has gone along. Some questions for you.

1. What would you say your strengths as an artist and writer are? What are your weakness?

2. What do you believe the comics industry will be like in 25 years? What would you like to see it turn into 25 years from now?

3. What advice would you give to someone wanting to independently publish their own comic(s)?

4. Do you feel being Canadian has influenced your work at all?

5. Are there any comics (individual stories or series) that have been published that you wish you had done?

Hi Dave I'm one of the many comics fans who had glimpsed some parts of your comics and always had dream to see them published in his country.

In the last week, while we were waiting for you appearance, we had a small debate, and besides I always defended your position or not let any publishing house to sell your comics without your total control, now I can see more clearly you motivations.

Anyway i don't lose anything for asking, and i wanted to say Hello and welcome to IMWAN to you, so...:

1) It can be any possibility in a close or distant future to see your comics published in another countries & languages?

2) And if the answer its no, what are in your own words the main reasons for not allowing foreign editions?

Thanks in advance.
