Best inker ever, and one hell of a penciller. One of my heroes for sure.

There's not many classic Silver Age DC artists left.

This is a tragic loss. May he always be remembered - one of the true greats.

He inked the comic that probably impacted my collecting the most. Then after seeing what he did with Zatanna, and the Legion of Super-Heroes, he became one of my all-time heroes among artists. RIP Mr. Anderson.

Anderson's work on the Buck Rogers comic strip has been collected in a book.He was probably the best artist that strip ever had.

This is the essence of what Murphy did. I think about some of the best artists of the 60's and 70's: Gil Kane, Carmine Infantino, Curt Swan, Irv Novick, Mike Sekowsky, Dave Cockrum. Murphy improved all these artists' work (and so many others) with his inks. He was a wonderful penciller as well. That JSA pin-up is sheer perfection. I met him at conventions a few times, and he was just the nicest guy you could imagine. Until now, I had hoped for one more surprise guest inker appearance by Murphy. I'm sure it would have been great. Thanks, Murphy.

Cockrum was Anderson's protege. He helped and ghosted for Murphy on the World of Krypton backups until they could convince DC to give Cockrum a chance on his own.
