...quality being a relative term here.
Enjoyed these shows as a kid. What caught my imagination were the spacecraft, submarines, and the other vehicles the model makers came up with.My favorite was the Flying Sub--I wanted one of those.I still want one.

Lost in Space was by far my favorite show as a kid. I wanted to be Will Robinson.

Yeah, but the lurking spectre of Dr. Smith was always more dangerous than any passing alien robot.....

Had to go with the Time Tunnel. Consistent, good quality. Only had one season but it was pretty solid with a cool time travel vibe and an awesome studio set.

Lost in space started out as really impressive sci fi, good suspense , tension, etc. But about half way through the first season, they started to play up the goofy Dr. Smith. Initially, he was a good villain but by the end of the first awesome, bxw season, he started to become a cartoon and things just got worse and worse from there. They went color and it was just over the top goofy.

bottom line though, Irwin Allen had some pretty fantastic concepts and when you think about the shows on TV during the 1960's, these were just some of the incredible fantasty shows that were on back then. You add Wild Wild West, Batman, Munsters, Star Trek to name but a few. The '60's was an awesome TV decade.

To paraphrase Billy Mumy, Irwin Allen was great at creating and selling a series, but sucked at running a series.

Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants had the benefit of short runs (one season each). Voyage and Lost in Space deteriorated into silliness.

The first seasons of Lost in Space still put it at the top of the heap for me. I was a Swiss Family Robinson nut as a kid (probably the first classic that I read without having to be told to) and the thought of a Space Family Robinson was awesome. The premiere episode was must see television for us. Putting it up against Batman was just torture.

And you forgot to add Swiss Family Robinson and Code Red to the poll.

Time Tunnel for me.
Remember when watching TV could result in learning something?

I love the Flying Submarine from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, but didn't care for the show.

I love the Robot from Lost in Space, but hate Dr. Smith. They should have left him marooned on a planet or just out and out murdered him.

The Time Tunnel looks cool, but I have never seen it.

Again, that clip won at the start with the appearance of the Robot Spy from Jonny Quest. The shot of the POTA Icarus puts it over the top. The rest is pure gravy.

Even as a kid, I thought Lost In Space was tooooooo stupid for words, really. Never liked the show.

The Time Tunnel on the other hand, was pretty interesting.
