Dodged a speeding bullet here.
Nicholas Cage and Kevin Smith in the same movie? Box office Kryptonite.

Kevin Smith is now making movies about movies that weren't finished?
What's next? Comics about comics never finished?
What a fuck.

Oh, I dislike him.

Trust me, we're better off with him making art about the process of making art.

The longer we can go without a Clerks III the better.

He is pretty high on my list of dislikes as well.

Amazing speaker and conversationalist... just hit and miss when making movies.

Yeah, he does seem like an affable guy. Just something undefinably annoying about him and his movies. I didn't always feel that way.

I guess I never forgave him for killing off Karen Page.

I kind of like Kevin Smith in "awed fanboy" mode - he seems somewhat endearing when he's doing that particular shtick. I'm not a huge fan of his movies, but I don't really dislike him.

I liked his Green Arrow run. It was fun and respectful. His other comics work, not so much of a fan.

That was a great run. I liked the Brad Meltzer stories that followed even more. I lost interest during the Winnick stories but LOVED Scott Beatty's fill in story "Antiques Roadshow" where they were on the hunt for the classic Arrow Car.

Ah, I didn't know who Meltzer was back then.
yeah, I liked those issues, with Grundy living in the Arrow Cave.

Didn't Batman ask Arrow about then if he had ever had an original idea?

Wait...how have I not heard of this before?

Solomon Grundy lived in GA's secret headquarters? This is the greatest thing I've heard of in the last 72 hours. I'm flabbergasted.

That may have come up in Smith's run. Beatty had Batman treating Ollie like a little brother, watching his back and telling him to get his shit together (which was pretty funny) so it may have been Beatty.

And in the opening to my JLA movie, as Batman and Green Arrow fly their jets towards Starro, interior shots would show Bruce and Ollie clicking the exact same switches in the exact same sequences. Then quick close-ups of the matching gauges would show "Wayne Industries" over Batman's gauge, and Green Arrow's corresponding gauge would have a piece of tape covering up most of the Wayne Industries label.

"Grundy No Like Arrows in the Face!" is found in Green Arrow (vol. 3) #18

The Meltzer issues had a lot of heart, with the will and everything. He writes Shade well too.

Smith's script was ditched the moment Burton became involved, but yeah. This movie would have been kinda shit. I might have enjoyed it on a "Weird shit by Burton" level, as I enjoy Batman Returns, but it would have been pretty far from anything related to Superman.
