Well Vader would be in a world of trouble. Voldemort specalises in killing pansys. Remember he killed Robert Patterson! Of course that might put him in the good guy category?

That reminds me, here are a rundown of their stats:

Lightsaber---the right tool for the job.

Voldemort's "stick" can blast Vader from a distance. Before DV can get close He Who Must Not Be Named could fly around him and kill him with just a thought. Your not giving Mr. Riddle much credit.

Agreed. Said stick has much, much more power than a lightsaber. Voldemort could reach into Vader's very mind and make him disembowel himself with his own lightsaber.

Don't be too sure. I suspect if Voldemort tried anything one of those "disturbance in The Force" flashes would warn Vader in time to defend himself.

In a stand-up fight I'd figure Vader would have the advantage, but Voldemort's ability to skulk around and plot would be a big advantage on his part. Of course since they're both movie villains sooner or later they'd HAVE to have a spectacular stand-up fight. So I'd be inclined to say Vader--but I wouldn't be dogmatic about it.

The overwhelming support for Vader shows me people here let their personal preferences get in the way of realistic comparison. Voldemort is a semi-immortal being who can autonomously fly, control people's minds, read people's minds, and instantly kill people from yards away. Voldemort's greatest weakness and his downfall was his own hubris which lead him to play with magical forces he was then unable to control, but I highly doubt Vader would be able to use this against Voldemort in the manner Dumbledore and Harry did. Vader is a slow, lumbering cyborg with a glowing laser sword who by all appearances can't even produce force lightning. Vader might get in some good blows and a force strangle or two, but Voldemort would likely prevail in the end. That is unless Vader threw Voldemort off a high structure.

I am not sure Vader would be prepared to defend himself against Potterverse magic. The same might be true for Voldemort and the force certainly, but the force is less malleable than the magic in the Potter books and in a head to head showdown may prove to be less of a threat.

Ava Kedavra would be enough to do Vader in, unless the SW universe has saving throws.

That's what I was thinking. Vader can do some of the same sorts of things Voldemort can do. He can't perform a wide range of "Potterverse" magic spells, but as far as destructive power is concerned I don't see where he's any weaker. And if he can make such attacks himself, he can presumably defend against them as well.
