The second most official end-of-year poll in the comic book scene is here, only two months late (and only nine years since our last annual awards thread)! Post your choices for 2014:

Favourite ongoing series

Favourite mini- or maxiseries

Favourite one-shot

Favourite writer

Favourite penciller

Favourite inker

Favourite colourist

Favourite letterer (computer fonts included)

Favourite editor

Favourite story or storyline

Favourite character (as portrayed in 2014)

Favourite team (as portrayed in 2014)

And finally, your hope/dreams/expectations (good, bad or indifferent) for comics in 2015.

I'll have to abstain from the voting. I have not read enough comic books to be an adequate judge. I do think The Unbeatable Squirrel-Girl is one of the best new comics Marvel is publishing, and not because I have had SG for my avatar several times in the past.

I don't know anything about current books at all, so I'm out as well. Other than a handful of new 52 ones I sampled and tossed, I haven't read a new comic in years. I still read comics daily though! There's plenty of Silver/Bronze/modern age comics I never got to. I do want to read the Annihilation saga from Marvel, and have most of it. That 's recent, if not quite last year. :)

I cannot vote on any category either and that makes me very sad.

Based on the handful of new books I've read this year, which is up quite significantly over the past half decade:

Favourite ongoing series Silver Surfer

Favourite mini- or maxiseries Batman '66/Green Hornet

Favourite writer Dan Slott

Favourite penciller Mike Allred

Favourite inker: Mike Allred

Favourite colourist: Laura Allred

Favourite story or storyline: New Dawn (SS #1-5?)

Favourite character (as portrayed in 2014): Toomi (Silver Surfer's board)

Favourite team (as portrayed in 2014): Batman & Robin '66

And finally, your hope/dreams/expectations (good, bad or indifferent) for comics in 2015. MORE FUN BOOKS!

Daredevil is the only comic I've read steadily this past year. It's an excellent comic,so you can just take all the talents involved in the making of the book and put them in the appropriate categories.
