Why am I thinking of the story (I think it was written by Peter A. David, but I can't be sure) where Johnny has to go to an alternate version of Earth where that Altantean nemesis of his has taken over the United States. In this story, whats-his-name is actually addressing the nation in a televised address like the President of the United States ususally gives. And LIKE televised adresses given by the POTUS, there's a character who is actually bored of seeing him on TV and shrugs it off.
Anybody know what the hell I'm talking about? I can understand if the answer is "no."
