Newhart was my overall favorite, but I have some fond memories of George & Leo. It's a pleasant surprise to see it listed!

Antenna TV has been airing reruns of Newhart for the past couple of weeks. Sharp writing and a great supporting cast. Plus, Best Series Finale Ever.

Still like his first series best, but everything he's done has been of very high quality.

A heroic vote for Bob for featuring Jack Kirby and Sergio Aragones.

Newhart is my favourite, but I've enjoyed all of them.

George Stoody (Newhart) is a mild-mannered bookstore owner who encounters a hoodlum/magician named Leo Wagonman (Hirsch), the estranged father of his new daughter-in-law Casey. Leo, on the run from a mob intent on collecting the payoff money Leo stole from a Las Vegas casino, decides to stay in the spare room above George's bookstore.

It was not very memorable.

Weird, I was just talking about this with a fellow Imwanker.

We both agreed "Newhart" was the better.

"Newhart" for me. Seen the episodes so many times, and I still laugh every time.

That's better than my Jack Kirby reason.

My stammer never got me ANYTHING.... :sigh:

Our local equivalents of Larry, Darrel, and Darrel (and believe me, we had them!) weren't as funny, either.

Loved when Mr. Carlson from Bob Newhart showed up on Newhart, and mentioned that he'd been screwed up by some stuttering psychologist in Chicago.

Newhart replied, "Ih, ih, it's a stammer."

Believe it or not, it took until his guest appearances on Big Bang Theory (as Professor Proton) for Newhart to win an Emmy. He's brilliant in the role, but really, what a travesty.
