For those of you that follow TCM on Facebook, you've probably seen these updates that they've been posting, concerning their Summer Under the Stars programming. The caricatures are by cartoonist/artist Ashley Holt, who had a brief membership here back when we discussed politics. I think that his gig involved creating 34 caricatures for their program. You can see the PDF that lists the entire series and all of his caricatures here: http://693938498.r.cdn77.net/CMS/wp-con ... S_2014.pdfHere's a sample:

Great promotion for a great channel.
By the way, their app has free streaming now on your handheld device. Only certain movies are in the free streaming menu each day (usually it's the movies that are playing today that you can watch).

That's good to know. I've shied away from their apps and online extras because they were charging for everything. Sometimes a lot of money for very little return.

This link (bookmark it) will take you to whatever is today's schedule at TCM. They've set it up nicely to require no second click, and the screen formats well for me. I can take it all in at a glance. http://www.tcm.com/schedule/

I am planning on watching The Thin Man tonight. I have read the book but I don't remember seeing the movie.

I'll DVR and watch Mr. Roberts for the 50th time.
Just to hear Cagney scream, "Miss-TUH!"

Myrna Loy is one of my favorites, and William Powell is fantastic in everything. Their chemistry is possibly the greatest in all of cinema history.

All set, thanks for the tip. I usually enjoyed his stuff on early SNL and I never heard of the movie. One thing I always do now with TCM channel though when DVRing something--I always add 15 to the taping. I've been burned a couple times with TCM's tendency to run movies a bit past the ending time that the DVR records. I learned my lesson the hard way after missing the last few minutes of Vertigo as well as Khartoum!

Especially "Vertigo," with that twist revealing that Kim Novak's character is actually:

Nice to see a young Lauren Tom in a major role like that.
